To be ashamed of myself?

A few weeks ago at the local swimming pool I was in the unisex shower next to the men's showers and washing my hair. I glimpsed a naked man at he far end of the men's showers and stole a few naughty glances. Is this wrong? He was washing himself and clearly didn't know he could be seen. AIBU to be ashamed that I've thought of little else since? It just doesn't feel right.

KLAXON

Don't let this slide into being a trans thread. It's not.

I'm just off to expose myself to the cat in the shower.

Weebo · 09/07/2017 18:34

The guy was the one being perved on! :o

Now he's suddenly a dirty flasher.

MN never lets us down.

CaretakerToNuns · 09/07/2017 18:37

Why does someone always have to try and turn every single thread into a transgender issue?

Sunnymorningwithbacon · 09/07/2017 18:39

Why does someone always have to make it the man's fault even when he's been doing nothing wrong?

Figaro2017 · 09/07/2017 18:40

Must be an obsession Caretaker. Similar to trying to turn everything into the fault of men.

Gottagetmoving · 09/07/2017 18:46

Oh ffs! I would put money on anyone stealing a few glances in that situation!
All the self righteous claims of it being so wrong are pathetic. Most people would look and then pretend they didn't...and go on to judge anyone who admitted they did look because people are hypocrites.
It's human nature, whether it's PC or not.

So this place has male only showers, female only (I presume) AND unisex?? Confused

Severalusernameslater · 09/07/2017 18:52

Is this just some sort of excuse to be

Severalusernameslater · 09/07/2017 18:53

Well, Pervy.?.

SmileEachDay · 09/07/2017 18:55

Yes, Several, I think it probably is.

I can hear the polyester trousers being rubbed with every mention of naked.

AntagonyAunt Hi yes, sorry, maybe I should not have said unisex. English is not my first language so forgive me, and also the phrase naughty glances is probably wrong because of this too.
The showers I used are for anybody as they are the last ones near to the pool. There are also ladies showers.
I don't think the man did anything wrong, I was just saying I felt bad for looking and even thinking about it after. Kind people here have put me at rest as maybe they would do the same. We are human.

If the men's (or women's) can be looked into from the communal/public areas, then the centre really needs to sort it out.

Joey7t8 · 09/07/2017 19:14

A diagram of the shower set up would be useful!

However, from your description I would say that I don't see a reason to feel bad. It sounds like he was a bit careless about which areas of the changing rooms that he could be seen in, in which case he probably wasn't that bothered. You weren't in an area you shouldn't have been in, spying through a peep hole or looking at a hidden camera, so you can't be blamed for looking.

Certainly nothing wrong with sticking the image in your wank bank for future use either. What harm can the private thoughts in your head do to anyone?

Aeroflotgirl · 09/07/2017 19:21

Oh right, what is done is done now, just keep your eyes to yourself nexttime. It is difficult if its someone fit though!

Aeroflotgirl · 09/07/2017 19:22

Oh yes, no different to giving glances to fit people in the street. Don't worry op.

Severalusernameslater · 09/07/2017 23:48

Smile, No wonder there's been thunder with all that static.

EBearhug · 10/07/2017 03:04

I have been to pools where there are mixed poolside showers, and separate men''s showers and women's showers - but you wouldn't be able to see into the single sex showers without going inside, so they're fine to strip off in, unlike the poolside ones.

EBearhug · 10/07/2017 03:05

And a diagram would be helpful. Grin

JAPAB · 10/07/2017 05:40

I glimpsed a naked man at he far end of the men's showers and stole a few naughty glances. Is this wrong?

It is the sort of thing that is wrong in principle, if he didn't know he was being glanced at.

But there are probably worse things at sea than someone stealing a few glances if finding themselves in such a situation by accident.
