To wonder if this wedding is happening?

I have a save the date for a family members wedding on the 12/8 but still no invite (no one has). Should I ask if it's still happening? It's to be low key & informal but even then I'm thinking it's getting late for an invite! I've arranged my summer holiday around it Confused

When I got married, the consensus seemed to be that invites went out 6 weeks before the wedding. Maybe it'll come soon?

I'd give it a few more days, then if you've still heard nothing, ask them.

Hmm, it's definitely getting late in the day for invitations - are you definitely sure you're invited? Judging by some of the threads on here lately, a Save the Date doesn't guarantee an invitation.

Saying that, we'd been invited verbally to a wedding taking place on a key date in the year. 6 weeks before the wedding we received a Save the Date and then it was 2 weeks before the wedding that we actually received the invitation. They'd been planning for over a year, I'm not sure what went on there.

Just ask.

I'd have asked ages ago.

Thanks we're not close but I'll message today maybe to ask times rather than a straight out is it on!

My db is getting married the following weekend, invites still not been received yet and they left this morning on holiday. So far we know feck all except the date and ceremony location.

Chapterandverse · 09/07/2017 17:58

We were at a wedding on Friday.

We received invite three weeks ago.

We were definitely not an afterthought, we've known we'd be invited since the engagement... Maybe it's no longer a 6 week notice thing?

I'd ask.
"so looking forward to your wedding, just wanted to check timings for travel arrangements"

Slimthistime · 09/07/2017 19:50

I'm thinking in terms of any guests who need to book trains and hotels as well
Those things can easily double in price if not enough notice given so you can be sure and book them
