Took place in Germany. Don't know if any of you have seen this before, I remember seeing it reported at the time and hoping they would find the culprit even though there were no leads at the time.

A man kicked a defenceless woman full force in the back causing her to fall down a full flight of stairs causing multiple injuries. He was defended on the basis that his head wasn't clear due to drugs and alcohol and that he had a brain injury Hmm seemed sober enough to launch an attack. Video footage in the link is very shocking and brutal btw

Wtf?! That's outrageous.

Ugh. That video is shocking. Ironic that it can be argued by his defence that he was drunk/drugged etc, when if female rape victims have been drinking they are blamed for not taking more care.

VeryButchyRestingFace · 07/07/2017 10:10

Did one of his mates nick her phone??

NoLoveofMine · 07/07/2017 10:15

So much of this horrific violence - though it's rare it gets any coverage when it happens here let alone abroad. This remains unsolved from just after Christmas: www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/chiswick-assault-woman-19-shoved-to-ground-and-repeatedly-punched-in-random-attack-a3429646.html

Rather worrying this attacker and many others like him are still out there.

That is a very good point and actually thinking about it as a wider point it seems to be applicable everywhere. If you are the perpetrator then lawyers will blame alcohol and drugs as something that clouded your otherwise perfect judgement but if you are the victim then they will blame alcohol and drugs as something that clouded you and made you have poor judgement.

Exactly. Sure, lawyers are twisty, that comes with the territory, but I think it reflects a wider victim blamingness and acceptance of and blindness to misogyny that goes across society. Depressing.

Really good point minister double bloody standards Angry

The sentence is nothing. Poor woman.

TheFaerieQueene · 07/07/2017 10:50

How drink and drugs can mitigate is beyond me. He chose to take them. Bastard.

MintyChops · 07/07/2017 10:54

That is shocking, that poor woman. Hope he gets kicked down a few stairs while he's serving that pathetically light sentence.
