To ask why is everyone obsessed with unicorns?

Unicorn cake, unicorn hair, unicorn drinks...it's everywhere. When did this become a thing? What started it? What's next?

It's a bit odd that adults follow these trends as they pop up. Prosecco, gin and pugs being just 2 "trends" that I can think of in recent years.

It reminds me of year 8 when everyone in my class were obsessed with the colour purple and kickers shoes.

Maybe haggis will be the new unicorn-style craze. They could start selling heels with different heights for each foot

The wild haggis mating thing reminds me of snails. Some snails twists on their shells go the wrong way so they cannot mate with standard design snails

My house is almost a shrine to unicorns, wolves and dragons and when I was a little girl I found out you could be a professional mermaid and it has been my dream job ever since. The recent burst in population is wonderful, suddenly I can buy stuff with them on easily and I can get lovely cheap and funny unicorn and mermaid stuff for my baby dd to wear!
As for the hair and makeup I'd rather see bright colours and glitter everywhere than crayola eyebrows, it brightens things up.
Unicorn/mermaid food? Well food colouring and sprinkles! I can be a kid again and not be judged

Am worried that Unicomaids or whatever they're called will be infertile (like Ass's) and therefore how do we ever get the population up? Do you thing they'll get bullied at school?

Momma Mermicorns are so awesome no one would want to bully them! And their rough looking cousin would stand up for them if anyone tried to.

Someone on my Facebook does water sports and suddenly everything is about her being a mermaid.

I love the unicorn/mermaid/cacti/flamingo/pineapple trend. My inner 5 year old is wetting herself with excitement of it. It's happy, it's cheery and a bit of fun and my god we all need a bit of light hearted fun at the moment (brexit, politics, austerity, terrorism).
I could never get on with the twee shabby chic fad, and hipster just isn't me, but I adore glitter and rainbows and anything sparkly and colourful. I hope it stays for a long long time

Just had a restaurant pop up on my FB feed with unicorn fries - chips with rainbow mayo on. They really do look grim.
