Oh holy hell.

She must not WORK very hard if she has time to spin these fantastic tales. Also, shouldn't she be at WORK instead of gossiping at the school gates in the morning?

And again, no one is going to offer childcare for a 10 and 13 year old for 6 hours a day.

Seriously. I'd be inclined to ask her if she's on drugs.

SabineUndine · 04/07/2017 17:29

Fam, it's impossible that other mums at the school gate won't have read these threads and be putting two and two together.

Just wait for it . . .

famtastic · 04/07/2017 17:29

Yes il do a 4th one, if I'm abused of being a troll it's all your fault lol!! Oh wow what a cheeky dad, men just say it though, well most ladies lol. I guess at least he told you what days! But these people are unbelievable! what did you say to him? No wait tell me on the 4th thread. Ok workzilla3 lol!

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES and off goes Mikeyssister to wait patiently for thread 4.

famtastic · 04/07/2017 17:39

She's not at work today, she often has 1/2 days off if doing a Saturday shift. It's a medical centre with out of hours drop in so it's always open.

She has walked past my house 3 times since school run time looking in but trying not to be obvious quite entertaining! Did wonder if she was going to knock or not

Yeah, it's not been deleted!

Settles down to catch up.

Roughlyroughrough · 04/07/2017 19:18

This is definitely my favourite thread on Mumsnet, ever!

paddypants13 · 04/07/2017 20:04

Alright Elspeth, don't get your knickers in a twist.

whirlycurly · 04/07/2017 21:04

Just caught up on this. What a palaver in the middle. To be fair, I've read far less believable stuff on mn so can't understand how this got so contentious.

Anyway, hold strong op, you're doing brilliantly. These things are never easy. I could tell some unbelievable sounding stories about the brass neck of xh. He got away with it because I think people were often in disbelief over what he'd had the nerve to ask.

LionsOnTour · 04/07/2017 21:15

BlankFace
Lions You are getting some stick, (maybe you have an inkling how Fam feels now eh?) but people are genuinely wondering why you would do what you did.

You said "I'll repeat... I only troll hunted AFTER MNHQ mistakenly said the OP was trolling and I immediately stopped when they said they had made a mistake."

Let's break that down. You posted normally, then as soon as MNHQ accused Fem of trolling, then and only then did you start trollhunting.

What on earth was the point of doing that?

Well, firstly I'm happy to admit at the time I was 'smug' that I had correctly spotted a troll - (although surely no smuggger than lots of other people were when MNHQ changed their minds and said the OP was no longer a troll and was now genuine 🤔 ) I find trolls tedious and I think they ruin the site. When MNHQ say someone is a troll and the troll continues to post and maintain their innocence then I also admit to find it entertaining to chat with the confirmed 'troll'. If I had any clue that MNHQ had made a mistake I WOULDNT have done it.

BTW there was a lots of teollhunting going on and none of mine was rude or nasty - all I was doing was suggesting the OP provide copies of the train tickets if they wanted to prove they were genuine so considering that at the time we were told the OP WAS A TROLL - I don't think it was that bad. At the time I thought it funny to see what 'excuses' the troll would give. 🤷🏻‍♀️. Don't forget that at the time MNHQ had said he OP WAS A TROLL. It was their call and their mistake.

I didn't troll hunt AT ALL before MNHQ incorrectly declared her a troll because I had no way of knowing if she was a troll or not but MNHQ post about the OP being. Troll was clear cut. They weren't suspending the thread they were deleting it. This wasn't one of those times when MNHQ posted a wishy washy 'we aren't sure about this' type of warning. It was clear cut. TSSNOP or whatever the acronym is. 🤔

It was MNHQ who called troll first and seeing as they are the one that have all the background information then I don't understand why they arent the ones getting all the flack.

Dont forget As soon as MNHQ said they made a mistake I immediately stopped asking the OP for proof and asked for my posts to be deleted.

None have my posts, even those made when we were told the OP was a troll were rude or nasty unlike a lot of other posters... Hmm

LionsOnTour · 04/07/2017 21:19

BTW - I'm only carrying on posting about the trollhunting because was directly asked about it. Otherwise I would let it go....

LionsOnTour · 04/07/2017 21:53

@blankface

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 04/07/2017 21:58

Just stop troll hunting, fucking hell how old are you?

If you think it's bollocks report then let it go.

TheHouseOfIllRepute · 04/07/2017 22:15

mnhq declaring a poster is a troll does not mean they are.
I just means they believe the post to be untrue

Motoko · 04/07/2017 22:37

I thought troll hunting was banned on here? So even if MNHQ said OP was a troll, it doesn't excuse anyone to troll hunt.

AndieNZ · 04/07/2017 22:38

@LIonsontour

You might want to post your reply on the new thread as this one has been replaced by WORKzilla3 thread.

On second thoughts, you might just want to take a breath and let it go!

AndieNZ · 04/07/2017 22:39

@Lionsontour

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 04/07/2017 22:40

MNHQ did NOT actually "declare the OP was a troll" - they just expressed doubt about the genuine nature of the OP BECAUSE of all the reporting. Not because of any background work that they had not done. So they were going on the gut instinct of a bunch of troll hunters who were reporting like crazy - and decided to suspend the OP while they actually checked.

Then decided that she was ok after all. That does not equate to "calling troll" on the OP.

LionsOnTour · 04/07/2017 23:09

I only replied because blankface had asked me a perfectly reasonable question. Otherwise I would have 'let it go'
I completely stopped troll hunting as soon as Mumsnet said the OP was genuine. If MNHQ say she is genuine then she's genuine! I have no issues with that at all.
I disagree that MNHQs post saying that they were deleting the OPs thread was vague. They always say they like to give posters the benefit of the doubt and if they are unsure I've seen them simply suspend the thread and say they are unsure. I took the fact they had declared they were deleting the thread as confirmation the thread was a troll thread. I don't see that as having beeen unreasonable but I will know better for next time.

I think MNHQ messed up big time on these threads. 🤷🏻‍♀️. The thought they might have said they were deleting the thread purely based on reports seems a bit risky. I thought they checked things more carefully than that.
