Ok so she sent me a few more messages about how they just assumed I knew what they needed and didn't think they needed to spell it out for me! Saying that they do not know how they are expected to pay for childcare that they hadn't budgeted for as they was relying on me to provide it. And I shouldn't of said I could help if I wasn't willing to do so.

I've not replied to any messages

She is a doctor's receptionist so when she asked whether you were in at 7 the obvious reply was I can fit you in for 5 minutes in 3 weeks' time

😂😂😂😂😂

mickeysminnie · 03/07/2017 20:08

Cigars WHY would your friend not just say NO??? I really don't get it!

SomeKnobend · 03/07/2017 20:09

She's not coming I reckon. She only wanted to come round (or threaten to) because bullying is more effective in person. Now she realises OP won't be bullied, she's not going to waste her time.

ClareBear1122 · 03/07/2017 20:09

Do you think WORKzilla has chickened out? Grin

TheDevilMadeMeDoIt · 03/07/2017 20:09

I have a feeling that this woman has been heard to say - more than once and with the obligatory tinkly laugh - 'Oh my friends all love me, they'll always do anything I ask them to.'

This won't be the first time she's been wrong.

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 03/07/2017 20:09

OP will just find the children tied to her gate when she goes to collect the milk.

Like a stray kitten, she'll have to take them in.

cattychatty · 03/07/2017 20:09

I've got to put my boy into bed but my finger can't stop refreshing Grin

MrsDoylesTeabags · 03/07/2017 20:09

This is amazing, so many images in my mind right now.
I love the thought of Batman needing to sort out childcare, but then he works nights and has a butler for that kind of thing.
Also the thought of her sitting a reception furiously tapping away at her wrist Grin
I wonder what she's having for her dinner?

Giddyaunt18 · 03/07/2017 20:09

I hope she comes while your DH is there as she sounds unhinged! If she comes tomorrow, don't answer the door!

famtastic · 03/07/2017 20:10

I can't believe I got so many replies on my first ever thread lol or second now. Mostly all positive too. And I really was worried maybe I was being unreasonable not wanting to do it. Thank you all I'm so glad I asked as I really would of been stuck doing this as honestly didn't think I could say no. Still no sign I want to go in the bath and get my pj's on it's tiring work this being home and mumsnet posting All day Wink

There are some things you just can't make up. I believe this may be such a thing.

OnlyTheDepthVaries · 03/07/2017 20:10

What 's happening? She must be on the doorstep by now. Desperate for an update!!!

Elfieselfie · 03/07/2017 20:12

Well she won't need to worry about WORK or childcare when she gets sacked for being a work-shy cheeky bitch who spends all day sending texts.

Giddyaunt18 · 03/07/2017 20:12

This thread is as good as the crazy caravan neighbours over the weekend.

ZombieNation · 03/07/2017 20:12

Great thread, tell this bitch to hurry the fuck up, we're all on tenterhooks!

AnnieOnnieMouse · 03/07/2017 20:12

Haven't been on MN for many months, but this drew me back in.
Anyone else paying MN bingo?

OnlyTheDepthVaries · 03/07/2017 20:12

Pants...cross post. Go and have a bath ...she's bottled out!

TinselTwins · 03/07/2017 20:12

WHERE IS SHE????

This thread is like crack! I need another hit from her!

DAMNgina · 03/07/2017 20:12

mickeysminnie From bitter experience they just don't hear/accept "no" - they just railroad and keep on going - it's really scary.

Women are conditioned to 'be nice' and "polite" are emotionally manipulated into it - it's abuse, pure and simple.

AlternativeTentacle · 03/07/2017 20:12

Go have your bath and get in your pjs. Don't sit up waiting for her.

And just keep looking at her like this Bear if she does turn up.

Hopefully her husband has reined her in a bit.

Changedtocovermyass · 03/07/2017 20:13

Of course you should have a bath and chill. But as ^ above. You definitely missed a trick with saying you were in at 7.
I LOVE the 5 mins in 3 weeks answer. Please use that if she suggests coffee as something like an apology.

ClareBear1122 · 03/07/2017 20:13

Go and enjoy a nice soak in the bath, fam. You bloody well deserve it! X

always2ndbest · 03/07/2017 20:13

Text her and tell her it's no longer convenient for her to call round as you have plans, same as you have plans for the holidays.

LaurieFairyCake · 03/07/2017 20:13

While we're waiting I know of a very recent brass neck story.

Mum asked other mum to look after little darling for the whole day, huge favour. Offered their Merlin card which gets them into the aquarium for free. Other mum takes her kid and this kid.

You know where I'm going don't you?

Yep, she wanted PAYING after for a full adult and child price. The favour part was 'not having to DO anything with her kid all day as that was taken care of with the outing she provided'.

Never mind that she had to pay for the tube/lunch/ice cream for her kid.

Mum paid UP £30 plus quid as she was so gobsmacked Shock

doraismissing · 03/07/2017 20:13

She must be related to my work colleague who took 10 days extra holiday last year and has asked to work from home for 6 weeks with a 6 month old baby when she comes back from mat leave because she hasn't got any childcare for those weeks. Can't wait for the first conference call should be very amusing. Some people have all the cheek
