Ok so she sent me a few more messages about how they just assumed I knew what they needed and didn't think they needed to spell it out for me! Saying that they do not know how they are expected to pay for childcare that they hadn't budgeted for as they was relying on me to provide it. And I shouldn't of said I could help if I wasn't willing to do so.

I've not replied to any messages

She's a doctor's receptionist?its all falling into place now

PollytheDolly · 03/07/2017 19:54

Docs receptionist from 6.30am?

Nah, she's dumping them off then going back home to get ready and flounce around, bath with candles, full manicure, polish her iwatch......

relaxitllbeok · 03/07/2017 19:54

I hope you and your family aren't registered at the practice where she's a receptionist, OP, or it may be time to find a new GP! Unless of course she has to give up this WORK now...

Giddyaunt18 · 03/07/2017 19:54

You or your husband I am sure will tell her that when it comes to arranging childcare, you need to be explicit and get dates fixed early on, none of which was done, only the mention of a favour over the holidays which could e anything. Who want stop get up at 6.30 in their holidays? We all make life choices, yours was to stay at home, hers was to work. Nothing wrong with either choice but they have been grossly negligent in their care of their children to leave this important care to chance. I think i'd look into moving!

TheweewitchRoz · 03/07/2017 19:54

OMG Op, just read both threads - her attitude is shocking. Well done for standing up for yourself.

Maudlinmaud · 03/07/2017 19:54

I actually know someone like this, if I didn't I would think it was entirely made up bullshit. These people exist and they don't go down without a fight.

TinselTwins · 03/07/2017 19:54

I'll be looking out at the school gates to see who else smirks every time someone says the word "work" in a sentence!

ToadsforJustice · 03/07/2017 19:54

😳

Allthebestnamesareused · 03/07/2017 19:55

She is a doctor's receptionist so when she asked whether you were in at 7 the obvious reply was I can fit you in for 5 minutes in 3 weeks' time!

PurpleMinionMummy · 03/07/2017 19:55

Surely Drs receptionists don't start at 6.30/7?

MyNewKitchen · 03/07/2017 19:55

I am so invested in this thread have sent DH to the chippy so i dont have to stop reading to cook dinner. A LIVE THREAD PEOPLE! Clutches pearls and awaits update

WineAndTiramisu · 03/07/2017 19:55

bigchris - not yet, she's eating because she's been at WORK all day. Watch this space

UserShmuser · 03/07/2017 19:55

I can't wait to see what she says to you or your DH. What a horrible lady.

SaucyJack · 03/07/2017 19:55

Is she coming round?

Can you set up your phone to stream it live on the MN FB page?

I'll pay cash to watch.

cafetea · 03/07/2017 19:55

How about to throw into the mix that you will need a babysitter for the monday morning as you will be out - the cost you could share. It will be double rate from 6.30 until 8.30 and then usual rate until 10.30 but more because there are more kids to look after now. You are happy to share the cost :) (if you have agreed to do the monday morning )

famtastic · 03/07/2017 19:56

I told her this afternoon that I could only do the Monday. I've tried my best to explain it all to her as calmly as I can do.

OP posts:
IloveBanff · 03/07/2017 19:56

OP PLEASE send her a link to both threads.

InvisibleKittenAttack · 03/07/2017 19:56

Our gp reception opens at 7:30, so a 7am drop off to be at work on time sounds about right.

janthea · 03/07/2017 19:56

Probably a silly question, but what is meant by 'placemark'?

Ceto · 03/07/2017 19:56

She must live in a fantasy world whereby all the people who WORK have a right to have their children looked after for free by people who don't WORK. I'm just amazed that she has never discovered in the last 12 years that that just doesn't happen. Surely, if you have children and decide to go to WORK, the first think you think about is child care?

FrogFairy · 03/07/2017 19:56

Ask her "Would you WORK for no pay?"

No?

"Me neither..."

indigox · 03/07/2017 19:57

Send her a link to the threads Grin

Sonnet · 03/07/2017 19:57

Op will have to live with the fall out from this KrustyKitten when this thread is a forgotten memory for the rest of us. Yes, there is no doubt the relationship is over but OP still has this family as a neighbour. AND there is obviously a misunderstanding ....so sort it cordially and move on!

ArchieStar · 03/07/2017 19:57

I need to know what surgery she WORKS at, so we can all ring her and ask how she finds WORK and home life because clearly being a SAHM is a barrel of laughs where you're at everyone's beck and call!! Who knew!!!

IncidentalAnarchist · 03/07/2017 19:58

Ohhh even if this thread isn't real it's made my day Grin
