It's not funny or clever or ironic, it's lazy and annoying.

If you are with me please post a Biscuit in solidarity.

OP posts:
islandsandshores · 03/07/2017 14:00

I haven't seen 'wow, just wow' for ages.

I hate that too.

Redredredrose · 03/07/2017 14:34

I hate "You sound like hard work".

ImperialBlether · 03/07/2017 14:41

I hate "And you thought you'd ask people on the internet about it?"

It's one thing if the OP's leg is hanging off and she's wondering whether she should go to A&E, but if she's just got something she wants to discuss it seems very spiteful.

I REALLY hate those idiots who go onto the web chat and ask what their favourite biscuit is. I am embarrassed for them and ashamed of them. Some poor sod has agreed to come on here and talk about something that matters to them and a bunch of women ask the most stupid and irrelevant question. It wasn't funny in the original situation with Gordon Brown - why the fuck ask that question of a prime minister? Who cares what he eats?

VeryButchyRestingFace · 03/07/2017 14:44

"Welcome to Mumsnet, OP."...

when the poster has already announced in a name change in the OP.

At all other times, it's fine. Grin

PuppyMonkey · 03/07/2017 14:45

YABU about Hmm

Hmm is the single greatest emoticon ever invented.

The one I think is completely redundant is the Smile

It's a bit patronising imho Smile

Wumpychoo · 03/07/2017 14:48

What is spider willy...? (...sorry!)
Someone once posted about leaving their washing hanging on the line over night and their mum or someone warning them that you shouldn't do it because of some superstitious thing about the dangers of the washing being "darked on." Lots of people found it funny (including me.) There are now regular threads about washing being darked on and there is a standing joke which is mentioned every single time with much hilarity about spiders rubbing their willies on the washing if you leave it out overnight. Must admit i never found it funny the first time, let alone the tenth time. I feel a bit mean now though. Blush

tobee · 03/07/2017 15:10

Maybe I'm stupid but what is the difference between Confusedand Hmm? I always wonder if I'm getting it right!

tobee · 03/07/2017 15:12

Oh, is Smilepatronising, puppy? Isn't it just happy?

StrangeAndUnusual · 03/07/2017 15:13

Turn the biscuit into a frisbee and fling it into the far distance :)

islandsandshores · 03/07/2017 15:14

Confused - you brainless, mindless twat

Hmm - not completely sure about that

JakeBallardswife · 03/07/2017 15:37

HaloEaster Smile

BlackStars · 03/07/2017 15:50

Sod the biscuit please get rid of

"are you on glue?"

and

"did you mean to be so rude?"

Crappiest efforts at a clever retort ever..

SerfTerf · 03/07/2017 15:59
Biscuit
SerfTerf · 03/07/2017 16:00

Oh and what @BlackStars said.

"Did you mean tonne so rude?"

"Yes and I'm going to be ruder."

Onhold · 03/07/2017 16:03

You can't be a proper MNetter if you hate Hmm

SumThucker · 03/07/2017 16:07

I like the Hmm and Confused.

Who's the snide cow?! I'm nosy and a little paranoid

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 03/07/2017 16:07

The Confused I think is always faux-confusion

In my case it's always real confusion/bafflement, and my face looks exactly like that when I'm posting it too Grin

Bluntness100 · 03/07/2017 16:10

Oh I love the Hmm because I actually make a face like that reading some of the threads.

I don't mind the biscuit although it does look like a flower to me...Hmm

CheeseGirl4 · 03/07/2017 16:16

I'm new here and think the biscuit is shit. It's a patronising, passive aggressive, crappy little in joke that is neither funny or clever. It doesn't even look like a bloody biscuit.

PickAChew · 03/07/2017 16:19

BiscuitBiscuit

LostWithoutALight · 03/07/2017 16:20

I actually thought it was a flower when I first joined a few years ago blunt until somebody put 'here have my first biscuit' next to it. Upon zooming it became quite clear that it's a Jammy dodger type of biscuit!

Oh and incidentally I now also hate it when posters use it and say 'have my first biscuit' - it was funny the first time but now it's just tired and old.

LostWithoutALight · 03/07/2017 16:24

I would love a proper puke face. I would use it far more than envy face. It's mostly used as a puke face anyway then somebody always has to point out that they are using it as such and not as an envy face. It's a confusing one for sure.

SistersOfPercy · 03/07/2017 16:26

shaking with anger

Can't think of any point in my life where I've been to the point of shaking with anger, least of all from reading something on a forum.

StickThatInYourPipe · 03/07/2017 16:28

Am i the only one who thought it was a nipple for AGES!!

YesMadamDeputySpeaker · 03/07/2017 16:31

I luff Hmm. My face looks like that all the time in real life anyway.
