My ds2 will be 12 in November and just wanted to get an idea of the average bedtime and pocket money for this age please

Here it's bed 8.30 - 9 and about £5 pocket money.

It varies widely. It depends on your income and your DSs peer group and the cost of living where you are and what you make your DS pay for and what you pay for (i.e. mobile phones, etc)

Sorry didn't see bedtime - 12 year old 9:00 pm here as well.

DD 11 gets £5 a week and bed around 8.30 reads til 9-9.30. I bought her a phone last birthday and pay on contract for free calls, texts and data on top of pocket money.

£5 is dependent on good behavior. No phone in bedroom and iPad is weekends only.

my 8 year old goes to bed at 9pm. NHS web site shows recommended sleep time by age of child www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Childrenssleep/Pages/howmuchsleep.aspx What time is he up in the morning?

scottishdiem · 03/07/2017 00:08

When I was 12 I was at Scouts meetings until 9pm. I note that these days its 9.15pm and I was never in bed before 10 after getting home, having a shower and having supper. I am confused about this big gap between kids who are allowed to go to social and youth groups that finish at 9 so are in bed later and those who are sent to their room before other kids are even home.

This was from aged 10 1/2. Up about 7.30 am for the school bus.

No idea about pocket money.

DS (recently 13) gets £10 a week and his phone contract paid, though he's expected to budget for most things out of that.
Bedtime is 9.30 lights out, though I've noticed it's creeping later and later recently and he needs waking of a morning rather than waking naturally Hmm

My 11yo has 8pm bed (but sometimes is later due to activities or hair washing). She gets up at 6:30, and still needs a lot of sleep.
She gets £10 per month, but we buy everything she needs, that's just for her to spend as she wishes.

My kids get $1 per year of their age per week, so for an 11-year-old it would be $11 per week. And bedtime would be 930.

At 11/12 it was 9pm bedtime for us but they could read for a little bit if they wanted. Pocket money was £30 a month so just over £5 a week.

DS1 is in bed for 8.30pm unless he has a late finishing activity (usually 2x a week). Pocket money is £1 a week.
