AIBU to think that thousands of people loving charlie and bradley is some what false.

I know exactly what It is like to have a poorly child same as hundreds more parents in the uk.
Set aside my belief that I believe that bradley has very little dignity and both him and charlie are now used as some weird sort of click bait.

The supporters I do not understand it ?

We love you, we are heart broken and we will miss you.

Now I get empathy but this is not empathy this is media posts just gone crazy to write the most heart breaking post they can.
I wish neither of these children would have to lose their life and can undetstand the parents pain just like the rest of the terminally ill children in this country.

You can feel sad that these things happen but this just seems weird and could not imagine allowing a nation of people watching my child pass away.

I mean how many of them 2 years from now will wake up on the morning of their anniversary and automatically remember them ?

I know you don't know how you'd react in different situations till you got through it and if it was my child I'd fight and try whatever I could. But I know I wouldn't want any of this! This is become way way way to much

alpacasandwich · 02/07/2017 19:58

Quack a lot of these people seem to be "pro lifers". I've read things like "even if he spends his whole life on a ventilator it's still life" and trying to use Stephen Hawking's ventilator use as some kind of justification.

The poor baby is essentially already dead, he can't do anything at all without assistance and he will never recover. Pushing air into his lungs over and over again is not in his best interest. You wouldn't treat a dog in this manner.

Ragdoll545 · 02/07/2017 20:07

I will be honest I donated to the Charlie's fight thing when it all started, I though you know what yeah get that boy to America for the treatment that might help him. I also thought gosh might as well let him go it won't make a difference to them. However roll on god knows how many months. The hospital clearly have that boys best interests at heart they would absolutely never turn off life support if there was a real chance of life. It's probably also very likely that this person in America knew the treatment wouldn't work and just wanted their money, and a lot of it. I totally understand the parents, I would fight for everything I could but unfortunately I think now is the time to say their dignified goodbyes to their beautiful boy

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4659392/Charlie-Gard-supporters-protest-outside-Buckingham-Palace.html

I'm actually deeply embarassed by their ignorance. How can they arrange to meet, get there and protest but not read a few articles online ie the judgements that make it clear about the reality of Charlie's condition. I despair.

movingalong · 02/07/2017 20:18

I can only add this: my sisters baby was diagnosed at 9 weeks with a genetic condion that rendered him severely epileptic, brain damaged (mental age 3 months) spastic in 4 limbs, no speech, impaired sight, incontinent. At the time he was a lovely cuddly baby and it wasn't for several years that it was apparent that he had special needs. 20 years later it pains everyone to see the quality of life he has, a man, in nappies, being fed, no communication, no life. This would be the prospect for Charlie but it is hard for the parents to imagine as they only see a little baby. Bradley's situation is different in that it is accepted that he has no prospect of a future, his disease is so cruel, but for now he is a walking, talking, perfectly normal little chap.

Rhodiolia · 02/07/2017 20:42

One lady held a protest in her house Hmm

AIBU to think that thousands of people loving charlie and bradley is some what false.
Babbitywabbit · 02/07/2017 20:44

Movingalong that's terribly sad about your nephew. And you're right: cute little baby who looks from the outside to be perfectly fine = very marketable. Roll on to the reality of an adult = rather less marketable.

EB123 · 02/07/2017 20:48

Bunch of morons.

I think the family really need to put a stop to it. Issue a statement giving their thanks to GOSH for the care they have given Charlie over the last few months, that they will be donating the money raised to the hospital to help find research and to be clear that this behaviour is not acceptable or wanted.

Of course they should be spending their time with Charlie right now but they have helped to whip up the frenzy and need to help stop this behaviour.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 02/07/2017 20:48

Rhodiolia just oh...
Though doesnt surprise as someone else said they were going to stand in their back garden..

WashingMatilda · 02/07/2017 20:49

I was about to come on and post the news of the protesters outside Buckingham palace but see a pp already did.
They are chanting that GOSH are 'murderers' I cannot imagine how that must feel for the doctor's, nurses and HCA's who have been caring for Charlie since the day he was born.
It's just so heartbreaking for everyone involved.

Lonelymummyof1 · 02/07/2017 20:49

Protest in her house 😂😂😂😂😂

OP posts:
WashingMatilda · 02/07/2017 20:49

And Rhodiolia that's utterly insane.

Scrumpernickel · 02/07/2017 20:53

They're ghouls feeding off someone else's tragedy, but dressing it up as concern.

histinyhandsarefrozen · 02/07/2017 20:54

Just looked at the gosh fb page.

Wow.

Those people are lunatics. (No offence meant to genuine lunatics) what do they think they are doing?

TheHouseOfIllRepute · 02/07/2017 20:54

I think the parents are guilty of putting their needs above those of their child
Of course it's tragic to lose a child but they have been feeding the crowds
The supporters seem to be hard of thinking

I find it so depressing that children die daily who could be saved. From lack of medication, poor nutrition, dirty water
Where are the masses throwing money there and agitating for change

Scrumpernickel · 02/07/2017 20:55

Protest in her house!

What an utter numpty.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 02/07/2017 20:57

And as if her children know what's going on probably think it's a game

Butterymuffin · 02/07/2017 21:02

Hope Judge Rinder replied and told them to stop behaving so appallingly.

alpacasandwich · 02/07/2017 21:04

One of them tweeted the Canadian Prime Minister.

QuackPorridgeBacon · 02/07/2017 21:08

Alpaca I said the same regarding how we treat our animals better than our own.

alpacasandwich · 02/07/2017 21:11

They're demanding the parents get a post-mortem now. That baby's body has been through so much already. PMs are utterly grim, let alone paediatric. Ugh. He deserves peace.

Lonelymummyof1 · 02/07/2017 21:13

Yes someone mentioned it because they think the nhs might be covering up that they made him sick and were asking if he had any shots / vaccines etc before he fell sick.

OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 02/07/2017 21:15

I saw the post mortem thing. What are those people on?

QuackPorridgeBacon · 02/07/2017 21:16

moving I honestly hope you don't take what I am about to say the wrong way. The way the man in your comment lives is why I believe we should have euthanasia in this country. If not for him (because people are allowed a choice) for me and others who think like me, I know I would never want to be alive in that situation. I just couldn't bare the thought of it.

Thehouse I completely agree!

I'm sorry but I have nearly pissed myself at the woman who is protesting in her house, while chanting "we will not be silenced" I'm just thinking, alright love, no one can fucking hear ya!

lastqueenofscotland · 02/07/2017 21:16

Grin at the protest in her house woman.

How fucking strange
