AIBU to think that thousands of people loving charlie and bradley is some what false.

Lonelymummyof1 · 01/07/2017 07:29

I know exactly what It is like to have a poorly child same as hundreds more parents in the uk.
Set aside my belief that I believe that bradley has very little dignity and both him and charlie are now used as some weird sort of click bait.

The supporters I do not understand it ?

We love you, we are heart broken and we will miss you.

Now I get empathy but this is not empathy this is media posts just gone crazy to write the most heart breaking post they can.
I wish neither of these children would have to lose their life and can undetstand the parents pain just like the rest of the terminally ill children in this country.

You can feel sad that these things happen but this just seems weird and could not imagine allowing a nation of people watching my child pass away.

I mean how many of them 2 years from now will wake up on the morning of their anniversary and automatically remember them ?

America seems to be this magical healing land and getting him there will be plain sailing. Course when it's over he'll be fully supported still as well..

Scrumpernickel · 04/07/2017 13:14

America doesn't give two fucks about their own uninsured sick children.

EB123 · 04/07/2017 13:15

This is out of control. As horrible as it sounds GOSH shouldn't have given them the extra time and removed the support on Friday as planned. That way Charlie could have gone in peace without this circus surround his death.

Of course they weren't to know it would spiral like this.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/07/2017 13:22

I can't disagree with that, EB123 ... I'd like to be able to, but under the circumstances it seems unavoidable that it would have been the "least worst" option

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 04/07/2017 13:23

I completely agree. It seems that their kindness in giving Charlie's parents what they asked for - more time for family to say goodbye - has backfired horribly.

My best friend is a Doctor (GP). She said her job has become immensely more difficult in the last 10-15 years, because of a few issues, but this one sticks out.

The surge of patients in the last few years essentially coming in to tell her what their condition is (Cyberchondria based on what Dr Google says) and then requesting the suggested medicines they've read about.
Obviously she never talks about individual patients, but says daily she is being requested to confirm conditions rather than actually diagnose them.

People truly seem to believe typing symptoms into a search bar puts them on an equal medical standing to their GP.

The same is happening now. CA pushing documents saying "the MRI clearly says he is not in pain" Hmm
Either CA are a million qualified Radiologists and Neurosurgeons, or they are reading a document passively, not actively.

DS used to 'read' my Psychology books word perfect at 5. But as we all should know, reading words on a page and comprehension of them are totally different things ffs.

Charlie's MRI may suggest to he isn't 'in pain' to an unqualified reader, but that is because his brain has deteriorated at a cellular level.
It stands to logical reason that his MRI will not present pain reception in the traditional path- his DNA is depleted.

But try telling this to people.

LogicalPsycho · 04/07/2017 13:31

*may suggest to an unqualified reader, I meant to say.

Sorry for long post.

Stopnamechanging · 04/07/2017 13:33

Some one on CA has tweeted the Dalai Lana and are hopeful of a reply. hmm

And the kardashians...

annandale · 04/07/2017 13:37

The hospital that has offered to take Charlie is apparently under investigation for poor care and unnecessary baby deaths.

Not that British hospitals are perfect but at least they recognise UK law that witholding and withdrawing treatment based on the patient's best interests may be the right course of action.

SeagullsStoleMyChurro · 04/07/2017 13:37

Oh for fucks sake some twats on my fb posting the latest pictures along with exhortations to "wake up and show those doctors".
I'm sure there's a lot of children in Syria that could do with medical treatment in the US or at the Vatican to e.g. get prosthetic fitted but no such offers forthcoming.

EB123 · 04/07/2017 13:50

It is just getting more and more out of control. Something needs to happen because they are just being whipped into a bigger frenzy at the moment and practicality salivating at the attention they are getting.

That poor little baby meanwhile is just laid there suffering.

Stopnamechanging · 04/07/2017 13:52

They are making it all about them, someone is even selling key rings Hmm

QuackPorridgeBacon · 04/07/2017 13:56

This is getting worse every day! It's sickening that in this country a baby is allowed to suffer because of bullying crazy fuckers.

QuackPorridgeBacon · 04/07/2017 13:58

Seriously, key rings?! I'm seriously pissed off. I shouldn't be but, a little boy is suffering and it's being let happen!

MirandaWest · 04/07/2017 14:00

Keyrings are only one of the things being sold.

There's been a debate on Loose Women about it and it didn't go the way Charlie's Army wanted so they are writing cross emails to ITV

LogicalPsycho · 04/07/2017 14:07

These two pictures are currently being shared by Charlie's Army, and his Mother.

I asked on one of the shared posts if the OP even knew this child, their name, do they know if the child even has the same condition as Charlie, and I was met with vile abuse for daring to question the authenticity.
They could just be random sick babies, who don't even know their images are being used to push an agenda.
It looks a bit suspect to me.

AIBU to think that thousands of people loving charlie and bradley is some what false.

Redglitter · 04/07/2017 14:10

I see they're now suggesting contacting William & Kate Hmm I can't believe theyre so deluded they think the Royal Family would get involve.

There's also a petition for Teresa May to intervene. Asking why she's doing nothing
Màyve because she realises it's sod all to do with her

nina2b · 04/07/2017 14:10

Even the Charlie's Army name is trite and wrong. It sounds like the name of a game.Confused

Alittlepotofrosie · 04/07/2017 14:17

Katie hopkins is wading in too. Hmm

nina2b · 04/07/2017 14:21

Oh god. No show without Punch.

chupsmelad · 04/07/2017 14:22

nina I think it originated when they were fundraising for Charlie's treatment in the US, prior to the court's involvement (I could be mistaken of course).

It has taken on another meaning now, yes.

SadGuru · 04/07/2017 14:25

There is a shop that is set up online by Charlie's aunt to sell stuff made by Charlie's supporters and they say the money raised will go the family. It is bags, keychains, mugs, etc with Charlie's name and blue hearts on them. How can this ever be right, making money out of this tragic event?!

QuackPorridgeBacon · 04/07/2017 14:27

If the 'treatment' hasn't been tested on humans before nor even mice, then how do these pictures prove it works?

HouseOfMouse · 04/07/2017 14:29

The CA campaign seems to have reached hysterical proportions - it's pretty scary to see people whip themselves into a frenzy, and based on such misinformation. Even the parents' own medical expert, in the April court hearing, did not disagree with the medical evidence given by GOSH and by Charlie's legal representatives. And Charlie's parents also agreed that his quality of life at that point (which has since declined further) was not worth sustaining. Have any of CA actually read that ruling?
As and when the poor child does finally die, I think there will be an outpouring of competitive grieving from the CA FB page.

Stopnamechanging · 04/07/2017 14:31

I am getting furious about this now, disgusting.
