You know how Trump keeps saying failing NY Times?

How does that work - given its subscriptions have dramatically increased?

Unless that's fake news?

Orlantina · 02/07/2017 17:30

You know what else is fake news?

Trump said that he would be a friend to the LGBT community?

So where was his support of Pride and LGBT history month?

I guess that's fake news as well.

Orlantina · 02/07/2017 17:30

I've got loads more of things Trump has said that's fake news.

Want some more?

Orlantina · 02/07/2017 17:31

How come he's not against Muslims but completely forgot to mention Eid?

Elendon · 02/07/2017 17:32

I'm going to be busy again next week and forgot to mark the other threads so this is a marking post.

Just love these threads.

He really hates women, and I'm shocked it's actually come as a surprise to some people. Hello? Grab pussy wasn't enough for you?

Numbers are just numbers until you find out more about the viewing demographic.

Topher Spiro @TopherSpiro

1: ALERT: McConnell just sent a revised bill to CBO. They’re close to a deal. This is CODE RED. t.co/9TTStGJGVm?amp=1
2: Vote expected in mid-July. Republican staff reportedly told lobbyists “The store is open”—meaning they think they can buy off moderates.
3: If these moderates don’t feel the heat over recess, guess what? They’ll cave in no time. Remember how weak Cassidy was?
4: This revised bill is probably McConnell’s last shot. He has no time for CBO to score one after this. EVERYTHING RIDES ON THIS.
5: Happy Fourth! Protesting Trumpcare this week is the pinnacle of democracy and patriotism 🇺🇸
6: MORAN—who is currently a no—is the only Senator holding town halls. SPREAD THE WORD.
7: HELLER is perhaps the most important vote.
8: Here’s where HELLER will be during recess. Parade in Ely, NV anyone?
9: Need inspiration? Watch this =>

Rep. Joe Kennedy III @RepJoeKennedy

ayylmaooo · 02/07/2017 17:49

You're comparing CNN pushing a story that the POTUS colluded with Russia to Trump not acknowledging LGBT issues on twitter? Just.. what?

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 02/07/2017 17:49

West Wing Reports @WestWingReport

President's tweets continue to distract attention from very serious matters - and the media continues to play along (more)
Trump tweets distract from:

  1. Slowing U.S. economy
  2. Slowing U.S. job growth
  3. Deficit rising faster than expected
(2) Trump tweets distract from:
  1. no major legislative wins
  2. criminal probe on White House doorstep
  3. global respect for U.S. has plunged

Brian James @bjamesv
You forgot:

  1. AHCA & ACA repeal
  2. Trump/Putin meeting & "concessions"
  3. Voter rolls/personal data requests

What Pain posted above is exactly right.

Our (meaning America/American media and politicos) are allowing the important things to be overshadowed by Scrotus' continuing social media circus. His 'targets' really, really, need to stop responding to his idiotic tweets and his insults made during speeches. His media targets need instead to focus even more energy on investigating and getting the truth out there. They need to focus on refuting his insanity with cold hard reportage, in the old Walter Cronkite/Edward J Murrow/Peter Jennings mode. They didn't stoop to trading insults, innuendo, and reporting every brain fart that some idiot came out with. And his political targets need to focus on the ongoing investigations, working hard in cooperation with anyone/everyone they can, pushing back against those who are in opposition, and keeping their constituents informed and pushing activism.

Our politicians and the media cannot afford to be distracted. He knows this and he's a 'master distractor'. It's only human to want to fight back, but they need to rise to the higher cause.

Let the rest of us gleefully trade insults and memes. Let us tweet back at Scrotus with like for like insults. Let us gather and make fun of him (so easy to do). We don't have the ability to propose legislation, lobby directly, or ferret out the secret workings of this regime. We have our votes and our voices. We won't be voting until next year. So let's use our voices for what we will, be it shouting at a protest or posting a thought or an insult on this thread.

And as far as our 'resident Trumpette', I'm going to heed my own advice and ignore. She's entitled to her opinion, I'm entitled to mine. Never the twain shall meet and I shall not try. After all "'Tis better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open one's mouth and confirm it". 'Nuff said!

cozietoesie · 02/07/2017 18:28

Well said, Across. Smile

ayylmaooo · 02/07/2017 18:29

Did you just assume my gender? I identify as an asexual pansexual one legged 17th century pirate.

thedcbrokemybank · 02/07/2017 18:39

ayylmaooo Fox retracted the Set Rich story (May 24th?) - big news??

BossyBitch · 02/07/2017 18:50

So when will he finally push everyone, namely Republicans, over the edge?

We've had the Muslim Ban, the Mexcian rapist thing, the Miss Housekeeping incident, the Gold Star family embarrassment, the pussy grabbing tape, the North Korea fail, the one where he bombed Iraq Syria, the NATO pushing offense, the Kelly period drama, the Mika facelift insult and now this?

And those are just the ones that immediately come to mind!

Surely something the man days and does will have to be too much at some stage?

lionheart · 02/07/2017 18:56

I'd like to ask the 17th century one-legged pirate trump supporter here a question actually. I'd like to bridge the echo chambers just because, he/she seems pretty convinced about him and doesn't seem either a bot or a total knuckledragger but informed, albeit in a totally opposite way to me. And I'm really interested in that.

So, could I ask firstly what part of trumps agenda appealed to you?

Trump's supporters talk often about 'winning'- what exactly does this mean? I honestly don't mean to sound clueless but it seems that you feel like a lot of winning is going on and I'm wondering what has he won, since the election?

Finally, would you have ever voted democrat if Bernie sanders had stood in place of Hillary?

Am honestly not looking for a bun fight but am just really interested. Here in Scotland the whole concept of Trump- his celebrity, his status, his wealth- it all just gets totally lost in translation and we just can't comprehend anything he talks about or stands for- nothing chimes. I'm just really fascinated to hear from someone who 'gets' it.
Thank you 🙂

bumblebee61 · 02/07/2017 19:21

How do you placemark?

ayylmaooo · 02/07/2017 19:22

thedcbrokemybank, lol what? Because I refuse to buy into the hysteria and criticise Trump for eating three scoops of ice cream, I'm a Fox News superfan?

But yes, they pushed a conspiracy without any actual evidence and retracted it without being forced to by undercover videos. They did the right thing. What is your point exactly?

cozietoesie · 02/07/2017 19:26

You just did, bumble. (You have to post.) Wink

cozietoesie · 02/07/2017 19:28

Sorry - but you can (additionally) bookmark a post if simply being on a thread isn't enough. Smile

Orlantina · 02/07/2017 19:44

Looks like Trump might sneak into the UK with little notice.

Bless.

ayylmaooo · 02/07/2017 19:54

Brexit, I'm not American.

The fact that Hillary was a horrific alternative appealed to me. I liked how anti-establishment and anti-PC he was. He still is, but not as much.

The media and his opponents have constantly attacked and accused him of things, he always comes out on top. I'm almost tired of winning (not really).

Trump has only been president for six months and he is fighting people from every direction, including factions within the GOP. Changes do not happen overnight but he is following through on most of his important campaign promises which Dems have opposed. Wins? Repealing Obamacare, travel ban (not Muslim ban, stop being silly) upheld, defunding sanctuary cities, cancelled Paris agreement, defunding planned parenthood, making plans for 'the wall', aggressively deporting criminal illegals, illegal border crossing way down, lowering business tax rates. The list goes on. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with these things, but I guess they would be seen as 'wins' against Dems.

Bernie was a deluded old fool, much like Corby. They both gained massive support by selling a fantasy to young people.
