So, if tonight's hacking/disruption is viewed as a shot across the bow before tomorrow's meeting with Putin, as I believe it should be...
...this is particularly interesting to me.

Eric Geller @ericgeller
Malware found in power company networks seems to have been trying to map out the systems.

Because the compounds Russia wants back are thought to be the home base of the wandering diplomats suspected of trying to map the grids.
And one of the things Putin is said to want out of the meeting with Trump is restored control of those compounds.

Just read this heartbreaker account of daily life in America. Powerful and shocking.

What a read Inigo, it must be awful in the US to feel this, witness this, read it on an everyday basis. I hope the writer is just having a bad day and will carry on resisting.

Lweji · 07/07/2017 08:54

I overheard a conversation at a local coffee shop, with a woman going on and on about how much Donald Trump, “clearly loved his wife,” and how she had “zero respect” for Barack Obama as a husband and father.

I share the author's feelings.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 07/07/2017 08:54

He's on a roll:

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
After Poland had a great meeting with Chancellor Merkel and then with PM Shinzō Abe of Japan & President Moon of South Korea.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
Everyone here is talking about why John Podesta refused to give the DNC server to the FBI and the CIA. Disgraceful!

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
I look forward to all meetings today with world leaders, including my meeting with Vladimir Putin. Much to discuss.
#G20Summit #USA🇺🇸

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
I will represent our country well and fight for its interests! Fake News Media will never cover me accurately but who cares! We will #MAGA!

Someone's expecting negative coverage of his meeting today then

lionheart · 07/07/2017 08:58

A powerful piece of resistance in itself. Thank you Inigo.

lionheart · 07/07/2017 09:00

Is Putin toying with Trump to see how much leverage he has?

Lweji · 07/07/2017 09:06

He's on a roll:

I read this as "He's on a troll". Grin More like he's a troll.

  1. I really doubt "everyone is talking about Podesta"
  2. The endless repetitive MAGAs are starting to sound suspiciously separatist.

Thanks for that interesting Maddow link, lion. It was indeed important.

All very murky.

You know how people keep saying "follow the money?" Well, Felix Sater is the middleman linking Trump to Putin. And he just turned informant.

Anyone else read this one & think the reality of the situation is far more likely that NO ONE there is talking about why John Podesta refused to give the DNC server to the FBI and the CIA.

TheNorthWestPawsage · 07/07/2017 13:46

Trump and Putin. Concessions will be made. Putin will smile at Trump. Trump will lift all the sanctions. Seems like a fair deal.

It was reported in Reuters and other sources so not fake news.

This is the context of jobs growth though:

The U.S. gained 222,000 jobs in June — and 36,500 of them were in health care.
How those new health care jobs break down

· Hospitals added 11,700 jobs
· Doctors’ offices added 8,000 jobs
· Home health added 6,600 jobs

Over the past year, health care added 328,000 new jobs — more than any other sector. That growth would almost certainly slow under GOP bill.
A @commonwealthfnd-GWU study just projected that health care would lose out on 919,000 jobs if Senate bill passed.

Before the #MAGA stuff kicks in, 2017 average job growth: 180K. Last year: 187K. The song remains the same.

Obamacare passed in March 2010. The private sector hasn’t had a single month of net job loss since — record streak.
t.co/fI8Y5Xzcz3

Overall, U.S. has gained 16.7 million private sector jobs since Obamacare passed — inconvenient fact for argument that ACA killing economy.

That said — a slowdown in health jobs might not be such a bad thing. More health jobs leads to higher health costs. t.co/yykQL7hzjz
