Moving day for the neighbours. They moved out about 11.00am

First lorry arrives about midday and it's just sat there...no unloading or anything.

Could it fall through this late in the day?

Waiting for money to transfer I imagine. Might be a problem further down the chain.

Quartz2208 · 28/06/2017 14:32

probably waiting for the funds to transfer so the keys can be handed over. If its a chain it takes time to trickle down

OutnumberedbyFurchesters · 28/06/2017 14:34

Yep, just waiting I guess.

We only had us, our house seller and his house seller to deal with and it took until 3pm for us to be given the all clear to get the keys and get in there.

HarmlessChap · 28/06/2017 14:48

The new owners can't collect the keys until the money arrives with the seller's solicitor. When I worked in a bank a couple of decades ago I used to have to ring the solicitors when money came in as there were often buyers waiting to move their stuff in.... I guess the systems are better now but can't say for sure.

Last time we moved the movers got there before us, so they couldn't get in until we arrived with the keys.

Bluebell9 · 28/06/2017 15:27

This was me a few weeks ago. We moved everything onto the van and then drove to the new house. I then had to go and collect the keys once the money had gone through so my DP and the others were just sat there til I got back.

Racmactac · 28/06/2017 15:30

They can't unload until the money hits solicitors accounts.
Why don't you go take them cup of tea and cake ?
