I love this dress and am thinking of wearing it to a wedding next month with a black hat. However I'm hesitating for two reasons - (a) it's full length (but I hate my calves so would like to cover them if possible) and (b) it's predominantly black - and the bits of it that aren't black are white!

What do you think?

Is this dress still on Asos? It's fab I want one!

Nicknacky · 27/06/2017 19:31

I've looked but can't see it.

Pigface1 · 27/06/2017 19:43

Sorry nick, I bought it from coast in the sale last year and screenshotted it from Asos to have a picture to use on here (but it was out of stock on asos). It looks like it's out of stock on Coast now but perhaps try searching 'Coast polka dot maxi dress' on google to see if any of the other department stores still have it??

Damn it, lol! Thanks pigface1

I really like this! Nothing wrong with this for a wedding. I'd maybe put a bit of colour in your accessories tho, pink fascinator and bag?

Redglitter · 27/06/2017 19:51

It's gorgeous. Go for it

allthingslipsticks · 27/06/2017 19:52

Beautiful and wedding appropriate. Go for it!

ButterfliesandMoths · 27/06/2017 19:53

Lovely, definitely wear it 😁

SaS2014 · 27/06/2017 19:56

It's beautiful. Definitely acceptable for a wedding!

RoganJosh · 27/06/2017 19:57

I agree about a bit of colour. Could you slide in two touches of emerald green or yellow maybe?

TheHedgehogCanNeverBe · 27/06/2017 20:03

Gorgeous. Definitely a big hat to balance it out. Black would be more stylish but I agree you could go for a real pop of colour on the hat too.

TooGood2BeFalse · 27/06/2017 20:09

Lovely.Go for it, definitely take your time to pick the perfect headpiece though.

Also, I doubt very much your calves are as bad as you think they are.

FizzyGreenWater · 27/06/2017 20:12

Lovely but no to black hat too - hmm, could you do a red hat/fascinator and a red sash/belt? Red shoes?

That would dilute the black thing and would be very Ascot chic.

SheSaidHeSaid · 27/06/2017 20:14

It's lovely but I'd wear it with colourful accessories because it's a wedding and it'll brighten it up a bit.

Girlsworld92 · 27/06/2017 20:14

I love it. Coloured nails & bag will look nice. Enjoy your day.
Accessorize has fascinators on sale ATM. I got a great one for £7.50 on sat 😀

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 27/06/2017 20:15

I think it would look good with fuschia accessories

emilybrontescorset · 27/06/2017 20:18

Yes wear it.

Ohyesiam · 27/06/2017 20:20

Gorgeous. And it's not full length, it's maxiWink.

If I had the face for it, I would wear hair in a very simple chignon. Colour in nails and bag
Have a great time.

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 27/06/2017 20:44

I like it, if you're worried about length Lindybop do a similar dress which is knee length.

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 27/06/2017 20:44

But Jesus no fascinator, they are tacky.

Liska · 27/06/2017 20:50

Agreed keira

Mysteriouscurle · 27/06/2017 21:02

I love it. Definitely suitable. I am also a "no black or white" at weddings but that combination is fine.

NashvilleQueen · 27/06/2017 21:07

Loads of people wear maxi dresses. It will be absolutely fine. Why should you have to bear a part of your body you feel self conscious about just because of some weird convention no one actually cares about. People make these things so hard.

I think it's nice and if you feel confident and happy in it then wear it with pride OP

cyounexttuesday · 27/06/2017 21:17

Lovely dress, entirely appropriate for a wedding, but a hat would look much better than an fascinator Smile

MaisyPops · 27/06/2017 21:19

Lovely outfit.
Maybe a light fascinator instead of the dark hat though.
