AIBU?

To think the opening bars of this song sound like a Christmas song?

Heard this song on the radio today and honestly thought they were going to play a Christmas song!

The plinky bits sound so familiar to me and remind me of some Christmas music but I can't place it. Anyone have a clue of the song I mean?

I personally think it sounds very summery. Not my cup of tea, sounds more like the shit music they play in places like Ibiza but each to their own.

Sort of reminds me of the House of Fraser or possibly Littlewoods Christmas ads, certainly does sound familiar.

Listened again and I'm sure it's an advert but not sure which one, could possibly be autumn going into winter rather than a Christmas ad. Will have a search later when I have more time.

The background music before the vocals kick in sounds a little bit like the music that m&s/Waitrose would use on their ads. It's the opposite to a Christmas song though, very summery.

I can place it OP - Echoing another poster, it reminds me of those M&S musicy Christmas ads they to for their food advertisements.

When it kicks in though, certainly sounds summery.

Aw this song reminds me of my late father. He used to say one of the lines that's repeated in the song. When I was pregnant it came on the car radio when I was driving to work and I had to pull over and cried my heart out that he would never get to meet his grandchild. Amazing how a silly song can make you feel things you never realised you felt.

I've said this since the song came out! No one else I know hears it, so thank you!

The only way I can explain it is the second half of the plinky plonky bit sounds just like "deck the halls with boughs of holly'
