To be a little bit in love with Ed Sheeran

Just watching his Glastonbury set - he seems so cool! His music is great, and he just seems very humble.

Mainly in love in an "ah he seems like a really nice boy, I want to pinch his cheeks" kind of way", I'm - ahem - a few years older than him Blush

Given the name 'bunnylove' I assume you are a slut with an aversion to fabric.

Not nice, is it?

It's fine you think his music is bland. To judge him on his appearance is just childish.

He's much better than a lot of the mass produced auto tuned shite you hear nowadays. And he seems nice and humble to boot. I'd rather a child listen to that than the likes of Rita Ora or Little Mix.

acatcalledjohn · 25/06/2017 22:39

Ed writes lots and lots of songs for other artists. There's a good chance that people who don't like his music are probably listening to another more "cooler" artist signing one of his songs and liking that without realising.

A bit like the Bee Gees Grin

The80sweregreat · 25/06/2017 22:42

Barry gibb is such a great songwriter.
Classic songs.

CestTout · 25/06/2017 22:43

Love him! Saw him in Birmingham in April and was very good, also saw him when he was just starting out, he was touring with Snow Patrol in the states - 500 person venue!

A friend of mine recently played "Supermarket Flowers" at her three month old babies funeral. Half hoping he doesn't sing that tonight...

Definitely stay away from the other thread!

BalloonDinosaur · 25/06/2017 22:50

He has incredible stage presence, must be nerve wracking enough to be up there with a full band, as someone else said, just him and his effects pedal is very impressive, IMO.

Having said that, I don't really get how he got so huge, don't get me wrong, he's a very talented songwriter and has a great voice, but what he's doing/his style isn't exactly new.

Fair play to him.

NotACleverName · 25/06/2017 22:52

YABU. He's bland shite of the worst kind.

Sparklingbrook · 25/06/2017 22:54

I am switching him off. It's not v uplifting for the end of a festival, too boring.

It's ok background music but not a patch on last night

Sparklingbrook · 25/06/2017 22:58

Yes, the festival effectively finished at 9.45 tonight.

Orlandointhewilderness · 25/06/2017 23:00

Ah I'm really enjoying it actually! It may not be edgy or cool but he can actually sing and has brill stage presence.

MadgeMak · 25/06/2017 23:02

He is boring with a capital b. Also looks sweaty.

EB123 · 25/06/2017 23:02

I am enjoying it more than I thought I would. I find him a bit bland but my year old adores him and I think he is doing a good job tonight x

Hidingtonothing · 25/06/2017 23:03

I love him, he uses technology so cleverly and just seems such a thoroughly nice chap Smile

acatcalledjohn · 25/06/2017 23:03

Also looks sweaty.

Hmm
pieceofpurplesky · 25/06/2017 23:04

Not a headliner. Slightly dull background music. He would have been a good warm up for a good rock band!

BurnTheBlackSuit · 25/06/2017 23:04

I don't understand why people think he's moral and inoffensive. If you listen to the lyrics, he's not the best roll model. And many of the lyrics I wouldn't want my children singing. Yes, he's not that bad, but he's far from the clean cut morally perfect singer he's made out to be.

QueenMortificado · 25/06/2017 23:10

I love having a slightly more chilled Sunday night artist. After 3 days of absolutely smashing it it's so nice to have someone like Ed to close out

NameThatPrune · 25/06/2017 23:13

YABVU. Since you asked. Grin

needmorespace · 25/06/2017 23:15

wow, can't really understand all the Ed hate on here Confused

I think his set has been excellent - how boring if we all liked the same music/artists.
I can't bear music snobs

eeniemeenieminiemoe2014 · 25/06/2017 23:17

I adore ed!

Sparklingbrook · 25/06/2017 23:17

It's nothing to do with snobbery. It's just taste. Confused

Kimchipancakes · 25/06/2017 23:19

I think his set has been excellent - how boring if we all liked the same music/artists.
Erm yes exactly, so why does not liking his music make someone a music snob Confused

Designerenvy · 25/06/2017 23:19

What's not to love Star

QueenMortificado · 25/06/2017 23:19

It definitely is snobbery. There's such an overbearing sense of Glastonbury being all middle class, not rough round the edges like it used to be, over-commercialised, music-that's-too-popular. Loads of threads lamenting it and making out that anyone who does actually enjoy popular music is somehow not very cool.

Tastes change. Glasto is doing absolutely fine without everyone who wants Duran Duran to headline it and then still probably wouldn't even go because the loos aren't clean enough
