To think that the perfect bra doesn't exist?

Even when I find a bra that fits how it's apparently supposed to and feels fairly comfortable, it doesn't put my boobs where I want them to be. Is it abnormal to want them hoiked up somewhere around my neck? Even if I find a bra that seems to provide the correct level of support, it feels like my boobs are being supported too far down my body for my liking. Do I just have unrealistic bra expectations?

Rigby and Peller are probably the answer. I find it so difficult to find a bra to fit but went in one day, the assistant looked at me (no measuring) and came back with two bras that fit, look good and are comfortable!

ijustwannadance · 24/06/2017 21:15

I'm 32g. I don't mind freya but curvy kate just never fit. I don't like the bra fabric when it comes up too high so ends up looking like old lady bras as 32g isn't as big as it sounds.

Heidi Klum intimates bras are nice and come in larger cups.

KenAdams · 24/06/2017 21:21

I'm a similar size to you and swear by the Freya Deco. I won't wear anything else now.

FanaticalFox · 24/06/2017 21:24

Don't! Its so hard to find. I went from a 38 back to 44 during pregnancy and went up to a GG cup from a G. Now my boobs are all flat and gross after not being able to breast feed or express (milk just never came in) and now i hate my boobs and they look saggy in everything but i dont know whether to go and get measured now or grin and bear it til I've lost a bit of weight. But i want beautiful cleavage now!!!

FanaticalFox · 24/06/2017 21:25

Second rigby and peller, got maternity and nursing bras there had a great experience. Thinking of going back actually now baby is here.

christmasstar1 · 24/06/2017 21:31

Try Fantasy balcony Bras - brilliant

Harvestmoonsobig · 24/06/2017 21:37

I buy off the shelf from M&S and adapt for a perfect fit. Quality I find not great, although friend says hers last years. Worth every penny though to get a good fit.

INeedANameChange · 24/06/2017 21:39

I haven't found it yet either :(

I'm a 30E. I thought I'd finally found a perfect fitting bra (measured and everything) but the underwire dug into my chest. I'm a size 8 and quite boney.

It bloody sucks. I've just given up on underwear and very rarely wear it.

donji · 24/06/2017 21:43

im a gg cup and my go to bra is an elomi energise, its massive and comes up really high at the front but its super supportive and it has a thick band so no digging in

ShyOyster · 24/06/2017 21:53

Ewa Michalak is fab! Returns are ok, they tend to take a few days to process the refund though (so they're perhaps not as quick as asos for example). I'm a 36GG with awful sag (post pregnancy and months of expressing) but these bras do the job. And they're also very pretty (some of them anyway).
For comfort bras, as I call them, so just underwired, with a soft fabric cup, no padding, I usually buy panache.

CatsMother66 · 24/06/2017 21:59

I am 32G. I have found my perfect bra and can't wear any other now. Primal Donna, deauville. Pricey at £74ish but it is an amazing fit, comfortable and my boobs sit where I want. Try one on and see for yourself. No way can I ever wear anything else now.

CatsMother66 · 24/06/2017 22:01

Should read Prima Donna, Deauville

FinallyGotAnIPhone · 24/06/2017 22:02

I would go and get measured. Many times over the years I've done that and come out with a bra that feels fantastic. Debenhams or Bravissimo have both been good places for me over the years.

FanaticalFox · 24/06/2017 22:09

Those Polish bras look fantastic. How does it work with returns do you have to pay?

AlannaOfTrebond · 24/06/2017 22:11

I agree with Freya Deco, I've been wearing them for years and nothing else matches the uplift and shape.

tigercub50 · 24/06/2017 22:12

I have loads of bras but tend to wear the same few ( I'm 38D as far as I know). I find it tricky to get all that I need in the one bra & finances aren't brilliant at the mo. I don't find Asda too bad for the price & they have some pretty designs

Twofurrycats · 24/06/2017 22:19

Tragically I left 'the best bra ever' in a hotel room. It was empreinte and cost plenty. I still miss itSad

CrewsInn · 24/06/2017 22:28

PinkBuffalo probably the wrong thread but I too am small chested and had a stash of non wired BHS bras that were in tatters. I don't need support but like a little shape. My quest for replacements has resulted in many failures. I can't bear anything tight and though I measure 34 I like a comfy 38.
Best so far is a debenhams no wired 38AA.

Agoddessonamountaintop · 24/06/2017 22:40

It's grim isn't it? I stand in Bravissimo with a girl bringing me beas going into double figures, saying 'now that's looking lovely,' and I'm looking at the teflection of my boobs pointing towards the ground, or sporting the four boob look, going Hmm.
Mine are 'low set' and always have been; I envy those lucky 'full on top' types. I've given up on cleavage as I'm past fifty and just want them to sit still, in the right spot on my chest, without looking like I have two balloons filled with water strapped to my chest. I've tried most of the styles mentioned here, but they no longer suit now that the volume is concentrated in the lower half.
I recently put on weight, so reluctantly decided to updize. It's taken several trying on sessions of umpteen beas, scaling up and down for size, returning and re-ordering, and I've ended up with three bras, all of which I thought did the trick when I tried them on, but all of which have reverted to the middle bulge and bouncy-jouncy low-slung look after a week or so.
Never tried the Ewa ones though, might have a go.

Agoddessonamountaintop · 24/06/2017 22:42

Meant bras not beas!

Claireshh · 24/06/2017 22:45

Check out Gossard glossies. The 'only' bra I ever wear. I have lots of other ones but they are just not as comfy and don't give as nice a shape. They are bloody brilliant.

Agoddessonamountaintop · 24/06/2017 23:05

I used to wear those when I was a teenager in the eighties and the 'no bra' look was the thing. I was wearing a 36c then but now know I must have been a 28/30g!

Coffeeisnecessary · 24/06/2017 23:07

I second the freya deco!

NeverGoOutOfStyle · 24/06/2017 23:14

I'm a Freya Deco girl too, they're so nice and comfortable and give a great shape. I recently bought a soft cup Freya one (after about 6-7 years of Deco only!) and it's super comfortable and gives a lovely shape so if you've not tried the Deco definitely give it ago.
