AIBU?

To think that it's abnormal to not remember turning off your alarm clock?

Had to get up at 5am today to travel to a wedding eve pre-preparation, and I ended up being 4 hours late. I might have had a particularly rough night last night, but I am 100% positive I set 3 (!!) alarms for the appropriate time (2 on one phone, one on another). The problem is I have absolutely no recollection of turning them off! Surely this isn't normal? Confused

My old alarm used to go

  1. beep (repeat with long pauses)
  2. beep beep (repeat with long pauses)
  3. beep beep beep (repeat with long pauses)
  4. beep beep beep beep (continuous).

I genuinely didn't believe DP because I had never heard stages 1, 2 or 3. Grin.

Turning off multiple alarm clocks in my sleep was my life for years.

I downloaded a free app called 'I Can't Wake Up' and it changed my life. I know that sounds dramatic, but I mean it sincerely. It makes you do simple tasks such as matching colours together or simple arithmetic to turn the alarm off. Until you do the tasks, it won't stop - so you can't turn it off in your sleep.

Unless, of course, you're a maths prodigy who can do sums in their sleep. In which case, I think I hate you.

Are you sure you didn't have it set as 'weekdays only'?

Missed a flight thanks to that, bravo Apple!

Run if I had to do maths before my coffee the phone would be at the bottom of the garden Grin

I do this.
Also, my DP's alarm goes off an hour before mine and apparently I always throw his phone at him (it's on my side of the bed), I never remember doing it. Last weekend he was off work but I wasn't, he said I threw my own phone at him when it went off Grin

Disclaimer: I'm sure when he says "throw" it's more a gentle pass, I can't be sure though.

Normal for me! If I have a late night due to work but have to be up early I tend to move the phone and set multiple alarms so I don't do it! Tends to happen when I'm really tired and full of hormones - I seem to sleep very deeply when I'm pre period and takes me ages to come round!
