AIBU to let DH just deal with it?!

Came home tonight, opened the door to the porch and there is an overwhelming smell of death. Immediately shut (and locked) the interior door to the house and inform DH of the smell and that he needs to sort it. Porch is full admittedly with a lot of my shoes and family coats but I just can't go back in.

We don't use the front door so not an issue of having to walk through it however I do feel mean that DH is now going to have to investigate the gopping smell (also therefore have no idea how or what could have got in to die in the first place?!)

AIBU to leave DH to sort it? I am also heavily pregnant which is not helping with the lack of tolerance to the smell!

Absolutely fine, if it were me I'd have absolutely nothing to do with it, 100% DH's job!!

FanaticalFox · 23/06/2017 21:01

YANBU..when heavily pregnant you can do whatever the hell you like. Whats died?

No idea what it is as no real way anything could get in but DH thinks it can't be anything small due to the quite epically rank smell. I'm now convinced that my pregnancy spidey sense of smell can smell it seeping into the rest of the house but DH thinks I'm being ridiculous and will investigate tomorrow

If you are pregnant than a dead thing will be a risk to yours and the babies health. Only right that DH deals with it.

Unlikelyfarmerswife · 23/06/2017 21:14

Ooo very good point Brie. Starting to feel less guilty now!

Also heavily pregnant with a very sensitive snout, I'd have done exactly the same. Hope he sorts it out ASAP for you.

FanaticalFox · 23/06/2017 21:25

Investigate TOMORROW??? WHY?? I'd get my DH all over that mainly because I would want to know what it is, its intriguing me.

CheshireChat · 23/06/2017 21:26

Oh, I used to be sick if anyone just opened our clean fridge if the kitchen door was open so no way in hell could I have sorted something like that out.

Unlikelyfarmerswife · 23/06/2017 22:28

Ha Fox I tried but then also think he's better investigating when I'm out tomorrow as no chance of me getting dragged in to help Grin
