it's my dad's 70th in a few weeks and i'm struggling for a brilliant present idea

i suddenly thought this morning, we could take them to glasto next year. it would be eye popping for them, but they're awesome so i know we'd have a blast

my issue is that to do it in the luxury that would be ESSENTIAL (trust me) for them to relax and enjoy it is no doubt beyond our financial means

i'd be interested to know whether others have done it "posh" and what that costs

but also, are there any other festivals that might be better / smaller / easier to do in a naice way that will be more affordable and manageable, iyswim?

i'm quite taken with the overall idea, just need some help from people with more experience!

thanks all

Tv certainly is. The village is closed except for festival.

Hotels loads of mad things. Not on a field so is jus lovely. Then a big field for the bands.

Check out WOMAD. My best friends parents go with them, us and my little one. There is a bbc radio 6 stage in the arboretum. They have a spa and nice touches like that. All the main stage's toilets have dedicated teams that clean them regularly and they always have toilet paper! There is a huge variety of music and there is usually something for everyone. We have been to many festivals over the years and this is definitely my favourite family one.

Massive thanks to everyone for all the advice. We're going to spend an evening this week researching them all and pick one.

On reading everyone's replies I think what we will do is pick one where we can stay very close (walking distance) to the festival but in a b&b, cottage or hotel.

And probably just get tickets to one or two days of the festival if that is possible.
So will need to suss out which of the ones recommended that applies to!
