Hi,
I'm now overseas however a friend from my welsh home town has posted this on facebook..
"Everyone says x area is a fucking shit hole but at least its safe unlike London and Manchester" signed off with a load of emojis (laughing) aibu to find this in very poor taste? It was posted a few days ago but ive only just seen it. Considering blocking this friend and not seeing them when I next visit home. It seems in very bad taste

YANBU. Vile. I would have said something then removed them immediately.

It's in bad taste but I wouldn't block someone for this if it was a one-off. Everyone makes mistakes. Maybe comment and say poor taste? You may find others do the same or have already done.
A friend of mine posted a joke about crocodiles very soon after that poor little girl was killed in America. Lots of his friends, including myself, commented this was unacceptable and he realised and apologised.
