To think not everyone can teach

No matter how excellent their subject knowledge is, right?

I mean, I should be good ... excuse the boast Blush I have a RG degree (2:1) and everyone comments on how well I know my subject.

But I just can't seem to manage behaviour well.

And I can't think of anything else, so I am stuck with it I suppose.

Well, if you're on supply, every time you go to a new school, you'll be tested. That's just what happens, nothing to do with your ability. It's the same with a permanent job when you go to a new school. They test to see how far they can go and what they can get away with.

I agree that teaching has a huge element of acting in it. Are you primary or secondary? It can take a while to get them on side.

I don't think it's to do with how well you know your subject either, though it helps if you are secure in your knowledge.

Thanks for answers.

Secondary supply. But I have done long term placements. I don't know really.
