AIBU?
to feel I have opened myself up to a barrage of spam (Facebook "offering help" related)

I didn't realise that when you offer help on Facebook after a crisis - especially when it pins you according to how close you are to the crisis, that people who have nothing to do with the crisis can message you and request what you are offering?
I offered shelter, food, clothing etc to those affected by the Grenfell Tower as I am very close (1km away) and I've had so far:
three messages from women in Nigeria asking for "designer clothes only," and "forget everything else." When I told them this was specifically for the fire victims, they got nasty. Someone in Nottingham and another in Scotland (unrelated to the fire) asking to come and stay with me.
I am going to take everything I have to the collection points tomorrow. I wonder if I should take my post down?

I noticed that when London Bridge happened, messages from random people. Its a stupidly designed functionality, I would take the post down as it isn't designed with your privacy in mind. Well done for helping though, is a great thing to do and will be really appreciated
