AIBU?

To ask how many packets of crisps are too many?

I'm currently pregnant with my first, 14 weeks, and while the morning sickness is gone I will have food aversions. Today I decided I didn't want my sandwich so had a packet of wotsits... Which turned into three packets. Blush

Now after dinner I have just scoffed a packet of Johnny's onion ring crisps and using all my will power not to go steal DPs packet from the kitchen too.

I wasn't a crisp eater before pregnancy so just looking for jokey reassurance my baby isn't going to be born demanding crisps Grin (and a shameless way to distract myself from the crisp selection in the kitchen now that I think I've read every thread on this site...)

If someone tells you that it's too many then remove them from your life, you dont need that kind of negativity Wink until then it must be an acceptable amount Grin

Pregnancy makes all food arguments null and void, so enjoy!

If you do worry that you are eating too many bags daily, buy bigger bags Grin

I ate so many bags of cheese and red onion kettle chips, I thought my baby was going to come out yellow and salty.

Mistletoekids · 12/06/2017 21:05

I really want some crisps now!

Pootle40 · 12/06/2017 21:07

I was obsessed with Wotsits when I was pregnant!!

TellMeItsNotTrue · 12/06/2017 21:07

Queen same rule for us, I felt it really unfair because I didn't have a sweet tooth and my sisters could have multiple biscuits (say 3 at a time, we mostly had fruit) but I could only have one bag of crisps. As an adult I did go mad and have 2 bags when I first realised I could but it just felt wrong, I occasionally have 2 bags in 1 day now (and other days where I have none) but rarely, I tend to automatically think 'no, I've already had a bag today so I will have something else'

Oysterbabe · 12/06/2017 21:08

Yanbu. I'm 13 weeks and only want to eat crisps, cornflakes, muesli and noodles. I made a roast chicken yesterday and still feel sick thinking about the smell. Meat is just EnvyEnvyEnvy

Floridasunset · 12/06/2017 21:08

mistletoe I would share mine but I've eaten them all

dontpokethebear · 12/06/2017 21:10

Tesco's onion rings are the crisps of the Gods.

Mummmy2017 · 12/06/2017 21:10

Sounds like your baby needs something in the crisps and is too blame for all of this, now tell Daddy Baby wants a new car... and Diamonds.

frecklesmcspeckles · 12/06/2017 21:11

17! Anything less than that and you're grand. In fact, in pregnancy you can legitimately stretch it to 18....and size of bag is up to you Grin

TimtheEnchanter · 12/06/2017 21:12

I'm 37 weeks and I've stopped buying multipacks, I just buy the 'sharing' size now. Then it's only 1 bag. Oh and just so you know a 500g bar of dairy milk is only 1 chocolate bar. 😄

HowCanThatNameAlreadyBeTaken · 12/06/2017 21:14

I was the same when pregnant. With my first it was only crisps I could suck - wotsits, monster munch and space raiders. With my second it was beef hoola hoops. I'd keep going, normal rules do not apply! Don't have a craving this time around but now you've mentioned banana milkshake I'd love one!! Been feeling like I'm missing something...

StumpyScot92 · 12/06/2017 21:16

Haha thanks everyone! I have brushed my teeth in attempts of putting myself off tonight but this thread has given me inspiration for the multipacks I shall be purchasing tomorrow Wink

Two packets maximum, otherwise it starts exceeding empty calories.

You're supposed to only eat 300 more calories when pregnant anyway.

Giddyaunt18 · 12/06/2017 21:29

Too much salt?

Giddyaunt18 · 12/06/2017 21:29

You're supposed to only eat 300 more calories when pregnant anyway.

Only in the last 3 months. Unless it's changed in the last 13 years?

Giddyaunt18 · 12/06/2017 21:32

How about vegetable crisps? So expensive you won't be able to eat more than one bag! Grin

CishAndFips · 12/06/2017 21:32

I don't think there is such a thing as too many packets of crisps.

MandateMandy · 12/06/2017 21:36

BBQ Lentil crisps from the coop! They can't possibly be bad for you if they are made from lentils! That's what I like to tell myself when I'm on to my second sharing sized bag!! Blush

GhostCurry · 12/06/2017 21:36

I just changed my username in honour of the OP's mum.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 12/06/2017 21:36

(((Wotsits)))... too many is not enough. Blush

derenstar · 12/06/2017 21:37

I pretty much survived on wotsits with my first pregnancy- it was not uncommon for me to get through 6 packs a day Blush. My husband swears I developed an orange hue! I can't touch the buggers now. Sensible eating goes out of the window when you're pregnant.

Xmasbaby11 · 12/06/2017 21:37

3 sounds about right. Individual packets are small!

FucksSakeSusan · 12/06/2017 21:38

I regularly eat a 6 pack of frazzles.

I am not pregnant Blush

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 12/06/2017 21:40

In the first trimester I ate tons and tons of the saltiest, vinegariest crisps I could get my hands on. After that I switched to Toffee Crisps, to the extent that I half expected my baby to be born coated in chocolate and filled with rice crispies.
