... to burn my fucking house down (wasp related)

Washing up, massive Queen Wasp enters through back doors. Loud and increasingly angry.

I barricade DD and DH in the living room, and set about QW with fly swat and Raid.

Due to urgency and the bastard QW patrolling up and down kitchen I can only grab almost empty can of Raid.

Sprayed the fucker, I actually saw her sting erect. She flew around furiously, I hid outside the kitchen door. Now, nothing...I only lost sight of her for ten seconds at the most.

No dead wasp, no buzzing, backdoor was ajar but I have no proof she slipped out there.

DD has to go to bed (room next to kitchen, but we shut the door so QW won't be able to get in there).

What next? How can I be sure we're rid of the stripy arsehole?

Do it. Burn away.

Burning the house down is the only safe way out of this situation

Seriously, turn all lights off in house leave a window open near to an outside light source she will naturally fly towards the light.

OhtoblazeswithElvira · 10/06/2017 19:46

Fuck. She is somewhere there, isn't she? Keep very quiet and you might hear some faint buzzing.

VestalVirgin · 10/06/2017 19:48

I've read that putting up a paper bag that resembles a wasp nest will deter wasps.

Perhaps try that before you do drastic things. Wink

Short-term, try to attract it to something and then throw it out. Light could work, or perhaps a sugary drink?

kingfishergreen · 10/06/2017 19:48

We have blasted glass doors throughout Hazel the light from the front door travels straight down the hall into the kitchen (via the bloody glass door).

I can hear nothing Elvira I've listened for even the barest tickle of legs, and she and as big, she can't be moving if she's there... how long would they sit still for if they're plotting?
