How do you know if your kids' school is a very mummy yummish and super competitive parent trap?!

Well, at least that's what Ive been told about the school my children and some of my friends's children attend. I was thinking what exactly does it mean?? Tbh makes me feel scared ( I come from a different culture).
Is there anything exceptional you do need to do in order " to fit"?
Why the term community spirit goes around in all the school newsletters one receive and on the other hand you heard what I mention in the subject which is very the opposite thing and I feel like to run away...aibu to not believe it and live in my own bubble?

Have people who go to the school told you this?

If not- just ignore them. They're probably just jealous.

I'm not in with the 'in crowd' at dd's school (not yummies but quite cliquey) but I still have a couple of lovely friends who I met at the school gate and are also not part of it. You're never going to be everyone's favourite person so concentrate on connecting with one or two people who seem nice or are friends with your dc if you want to get to know someone. Equally you don't have to engage with anyone. You can just drop and run and keep yourself to yourself if you prefer.

Whynotnowbaby what you say is very sensible! I couldn't say that better and I totally agree. Thank you!
