A friend's ex has done the most awful thing to her. He's jeopardising her career and his actions have caused her a lot of embarrassment in her workplace. She's a very private person and what he's done has had big implications, to the extent that even the company MD (it's a very large company) knows.
It's 100% vexatious but he's technically not done anything illegal.

I don't know the guy personally. I do know his e-mail address, his name, where he works, and home address.

I'd love to send him a glitter bomb but don't think that's wise.

So, to tide me over while I sit on my hands and prevent myself from signing him up to every type of spam I can imagine, can you tell me decent stories of petty payback?

Maman Law and Order episodes are often based on true events and newspaper headlines! I'd guess this one was based on the true life incident I spoke of. The original ad targeting the woman who was raped was posted on Craigslist, it was all over the news at the time here mostly because of several other unsavoury Craigslist ad related incidents.

Well I once rearranged all of DH's drawers after a row - that's minor right?
Quite funny watching him searching for his undies first thing on a Monday morning though...
As a follow up after a major row with him I completely rearranged the front room. God knows why, I just thought it would piss him off to have his favourite chair in a different place. Turned out he liked it there.

I had a boss who was just so fucking annoying. A real know it all. He used to wind me up so much. He was a bit of a chauvinist and thought he was gods gift. I was annoyed that he'd been promoted above me as he wasn't very smart.
At the time I worked in sales & he had a large red round novelty battery powered button thing which he used to press whenever he made a sale which said out loud "That was easy"
Imagine how irritating that it?! He used to encourage the rest of the team to do the same. Urgh.
Anyway.. one day I took the back off the button glued a tiny bit of paper on the battery contact so that the circuit wouldn't work when he pressed the button.
It made me and a couple of colleagues smile so much when he got annoyed when it wouldn't work! He took the bloody thing apart with a tiny screwdriver & it still didn't work. Brilliant Grin
I also flipped some of the keys off his keyboard & pushed them back on so that the first four letters at the top of his keyboard read C-U-N-T
It still amuses me to think of it!

Dog shit under the car door handles is always a winner.

i'd been going through a really tough time and dp was completely unsuportive. i went through his phone one night when he was particularly hammered and noticed he had been messaging two female colleagues.

to one of the colleagues, the young female, he was so light and airy and seemed like such good fun i was fucking gutted and raging. i txted her off his phone in the early hours saying something mildy flirty with a kissing emoji and loads of kisses. she didnt reply.

i bet it is forever awkward now Grin

still quite pleased about that one.

JustHereForThePooStories · 11/06/2017 20:55

Or maybe she didn't reply that night but instead told him she had feeling for him on Monday morning when she saw him in work, spurred on by his flirty text, and they've been shagging ever since?

ahh well if thats the case she's done me a favour lol!

JustArandomUser · 11/06/2017 21:02

Name changed as I'm not proud of this but...

After my ex cheated on me with a guy I knew, I left her... And after a few months of plotting I shagged his mum. No idea if he knows, but all his friends an neighbours do.

I was living with my boyfriend (now ex) and his parents for a while. I made a nice big salad to take to work for my lunch the next day but when I went to the fridge in the morning it was gone.
I was so angry. My boyfriends dad had just decided to take it. When I got home from work I asked why he took it. He said thought he had made it. I asked "well, do you remember making a salad for your lunch?". No. Ffs I had no lunch that day as the canteen was having work carried out on it. So that night I made a salad again and saw another salad in ghr fridge for bf dad. I took his salad and prinkled salt all over it.
When I got home a peace offering was made to me but not a word mentioned about his salty salad haha!

ememem84 · 11/06/2017 22:08

Oh dh now always locks his phone. Mostly because I changed autocorrect and a few of his contacts.

Just switched names around. Mostly friends.
With autocorrect I changed "ok" to "potato"

Three days it lasted.

Year ago I worked in an office containing a really loathsome, know-it-all petrolhead. He had a particular thing about the fuel economy he could get out of his cars, insisting that everyone could get the same if only they were superb drivers like him

Someone brought in a large petrol can which we all chipped in to fill, and the contents were secretly added to his tank with a little more going in each week. As his MPG gradually crept up he got more and more unbearable, until he was getting something like 70 to the gallon and was practically hysterical with glee

That was the point when we started siphoning petrol out, which didn't do a lot for his state of mind but at least kept him quiet Grin

Dandandandandandandan · 11/06/2017 22:15

Many years ago, i was seeing a guy. He had just moved back over here after a few years living in Japan. Whilst in Japan, he'd had a Japanese girlfriend who was a bona fide pop star over there - quite well known.

When I found out it was still going on and she'd been over here to stay with him for a few days (he told me he'd gone to stay with his parents!), I spent a lunch hour down voting her albums on the internet so they all had just over one star each Blush

Dandandandandandandan · 11/06/2017 22:16

Puzzled - apparently Matt Le Blanc and Matthew Perry did something similar to David Schwimmer when he bought a new car and banged on about how economic it was!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 11/06/2017 22:20

I'd like to think we inspired them, Dandan ... but "mine" was too long ago for that!! Wink

Izzabellasasperella · 11/06/2017 22:32

DawnOfTheMombie you did those things to your kids?Shock That's nasty.

mermaidsandunicorns · 11/06/2017 22:42

When I found out my ex had been emailing dick pics to women I "accidentally" forwarded them on to his entire email address book Grin

usagainsttheworldson · 11/06/2017 22:44

I was plastered drunk with my husbands cousin and together we teamed up and got revenge on my husbands best friend he was being annoying saying how he was still a virgin and wouldn't shut up about it so after another vodka shot we ordered him the most expensive stripper and left him with the bill👍❤️❤️❤️😋😋😋

OhMrBadger · 11/06/2017 22:47

Mine is very tame in comparison to some of these but was sooooo gratifying.

Many years ago whilst working in retail, I had a really horrible manager. I was assistant manager and she seemed to have made it her mission to belittle me at every opportunity. She kept a detailed log of all my 'wrongdoings', interrogated other staff to get them to bitch about me, refused to allow me to take any holiday, rota'd me in to work Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and New Years Eve whilst she took all of them off, refused to allow me to go to docs when (as it turned out) I had a kidney infection. Would refuse to talk to me when I got to work in the mornings save for the odd grunt and then be overly lovely to other staff.

Anyway, she announced she was transferring to another branch and, as assistant manager, the onus was on me to arrange a leaving do/present etc. I did fuck all. As she walked out the door on her last day I totally ignored her goodbye and didn't even look up at her.

Felt fantastic.

Smellbellina · 11/06/2017 22:52

Some of these are a bit fucked up, looking at you Dawn
But this made me laugh
A few of these are quite nasty, especially the meat one. I would probably sue if someone did that to me.
Ok...

thenightsky · 11/06/2017 23:03

I think my ex-boss must have pissed someone off big time. Every month I got the latest Franklin Mint tacky ornament arrive by courier for him.

This was the days before internet shopping, when you just had to fill in the form in the corner of the magazine advert. It required a signature. I got Franklin Mint to send me copy.. it was nothing like my boss's signature.

He was an arse and probably deserved it.

Catra · 11/06/2017 23:08

I didn't receive a cardigan I paid for on ebay, so I opened a dispute and got my money back through paypal. The seller started sending me unhinged emails claimed that I was a liar and a thief among other things so I left her negative feedback. A few weeks later I received a handwritten letter in the post over 10 pages long ranting about what a hypocrite and a terrible ebayer I was. I sell on ebay myself and it was apparent that she had read back through all my feedback (over 5000 transactions going back to 2003) and made a bullet point list of all the "complaints" that buyers had made about me - I should point out that I have 100% positive feedback and the "complaints" were things like "item didn't fit." She then told sob story about how the cardigan was a birthday gift that she only parted with because she was penniless and how she was now out of pocket and having sleepless nights, blah blah.

I didn't give her the satisfaction of a response at the time. However I did take a look at her feedback which revealed she'd sold in excess of 100 identical cardigans in the past year - "birthday gift" my arse. The letter she sent me had her address scribbled out, but I was able to see it by holding it up to the light. Using this info, I was also able to find out her date of birth because I was working on a project at the time that gave me free access to Find My Past.

I bided my time until her birthday several months later when I sent her a brick in the post with "BIRTHDAY GIFT" written on it. I didn't pay the postage either so she would have had to fork out for it at her end before getting her lovely surprise.

CheeseQueen · 11/06/2017 23:21

The woman received messages from people who they thought they were responding to a genuine message 'looking for sex'.

OK, maybe not literally threats, but someone receiving lots of sexual messages could perceive that to be a threat.
I'm presuming that was actually the case and she did feel threatened and possibly violated with her name being out there in a sexual way because, you know, she was crying. Hmm
Hardly something to laugh at.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 11/06/2017 23:27

I'm sure I have posted this before but years ago I had a particularly unpleasant member of staff who used to call in sick and then go to work at another office where her object of unrequited, yet exploitative, affection was the manager. My useless manager knew but refused to support me in disciplinary proceedings and it was a bloody awful time.

So... every time unpleasant woman took the piss and left us short staffed, which also meant I couldn't leave the office because there weren't enough signatories or I had to come in on my day off (I was the manager and it was before I grew a pair of fuck off balls and left), I and the others in the office used to eat the contents of her snack drawer. You've never seen anything like it - I've seen less well stocked tuck shops. We'd work our way through Yorkie bars, packets of crisps, nougat, minstrels and a whole host of other delicious rubbish.

How we laughed when she came in and found her stash depeleted. Because she was a diet bore she couldn't even bring herself to even mention it, never mind complain Grin

GriefLeavesItsMark · 11/06/2017 23:33

Sometimes I think I have got pettiness down to an art form.

I used to have an irritating brown-nosing colleague who was desperate to make a mark, in a meetings she would suggest things like one of our Corporate Values should be to 'have fun'. Possibly she meant dress-down Friday, or talk like a pirate Tuesday, I'm not sure. But firstly, I don't like being told when I should be having fun, and second, if it was fun it wouldn't be called going to work, it would be called going to have fun.

Anyway, I heard that she had been whining about me having some software that she didn't have. Software that I'd put a business case forward to get, and she wouldn't have the first fucking clue how to use. I don't think she actually wanted it for herself, she just didn't want me to have it.

So the next time I walked past her desk and saw her diligently using her calculator to add up a column of numbers on an excel spreadsheet, I didn't show her the convert text to numbers feature. It took her hours.
