Not posting this to start a massive politics debate I'm just interested in the above question.

I voted labour, I put something about it on social media and a few older people have commented saying I obviously don't have "brains or life experience as them" & "young ones voting labour don't know what they are getting themselves in for".

I'm hoping I'll be proved wrong.
Not that it matters but I'm late 20s and those who made these comments range between 50-60.

Hope this doesn't come across as ageist, it's not my intention at all Blush

DH voted Labour and he's 51.

Take no notice of them, Op: you vote for who you feel is the best choice. That's how it works.

MrsDanversKnickers · 10/06/2017 14:17

We all did, 50,47,27,25

NewDayDawning · 10/06/2017 14:19

RebelandaStunner · 10/06/2017 14:33

DH and I are late 40's.
Including family members - late teens to mid 80's all voted Labour. All well off. A few Labour party members. Lots of life and work experience/high earners/First class degrees etc.

mumtotwonannatoone · 10/06/2017 14:42

hippy1952 · 10/06/2017 14:46

I'm 65 and I've always voted Labour as did both of my parents and all 4 of my grandparents.

crazykitten20 · 10/06/2017 15:19

crazykitten20 · 10/06/2017 15:20

I'm 52, I voted Labour

SchnooSchnoo · 10/06/2017 15:27

I'm 35. I voted Labour, as did both my parents, who are late 50's, and my mil, who is 82! In fact, I know loads of people over 50 who voted Labour.

The80sweregreat · 10/06/2017 15:52

Btw, my dad is 95 and voted labour. And remain.
They are not all tories the older ones.
My fil is a typical 'working class tory , ' but not happy about a coalition.
I had to smile.
My dads uncle was a labour mp in the 1920s. He is dead proud of that link to,them.

MrsKoala · 10/06/2017 15:54

I always choose my vote by thinking what is best for the majority of people in the country, both financially and the services they use. That's how my parents do too. But i was really surprised when i met people who work out how they will be affected purely financially from each party and then vote just for this. These have been people who are extremely comfortable working out they'd be £200 better off and not taking into consideration the services they rely on being cut or anyone else including their own children.

We would be approx 3k per year worse off under Labour. That didn't affect my vote because we are still very lucky.

Moanyoldcow · 10/06/2017 15:58

I'm 39, DH is 36 - we both voted Labour and are party members.

My wider family are Labour including 87 year old grandmother.

My retired neighbours who are nearing 70 are staunch labour voters and party members.

CaptainMarvelDanvers · 10/06/2017 15:59

27, my brother who is 29 also voted Labour. I really hate the fact people are so dismissive of young voters after so many years of calling them lazy and apathetic.

RainbowPastel · 10/06/2017 16:04

0hCrepe · 10/06/2017 16:05

Me 41
DH 44
Mum 69

n0ne · 10/06/2017 16:08

Late 30s, but my mum also votes Labour and she's in her 70s.

ChangedToday · 10/06/2017 16:08

What a simplistic argument
47, professional with PhD, in the east of England, never voted conservative in my life.
My FB feed is full of 40something labour voters

bonbonours · 10/06/2017 16:12

I'm nearly 40 and a whole load of mums I know who were supporting the Labour campaign are all between 35 and 45.

We live in Canterbury constituency (proud)
