Not posting this to start a massive politics debate I'm just interested in the above question.

I voted labour, I put something about it on social media and a few older people have commented saying I obviously don't have "brains or life experience as them" & "young ones voting labour don't know what they are getting themselves in for".

I'm hoping I'll be proved wrong.
Not that it matters but I'm late 20s and those who made these comments range between 50-60.

Hope this doesn't come across as ageist, it's not my intention at all Blush

Mid thirties.

My mum, early sixties, voted Labour for the first time in her life last week. She doesn't really like Jeremy Corbyn but works in the NHS and says enough is enough.

Mileymoocow · 10/06/2017 16:19

I'm 25, my partner is 31, my dad is 52 and my grandparents are 70 and 75. All labour.

clearingaspaceforthecat · 10/06/2017 16:22

spankhurst · 10/06/2017 16:23

46, my dad voted Labour at 87.

thecatsabsentcojones · 10/06/2017 16:24

I'm 42, my husband is a soon to forty year old hospital consultant in the NHS. His job is more to do with our voting choice than our age! It's no surprise the vast majority of public sector voters are not voting Tory.

gillybeanz · 10/06/2017 16:26

bonbonours

I'm so glad to read that, as someone on fb was complaining, that it was students who don't live there properly, and just want free education swung the vote. (They live in Kent)

BIWI · 10/06/2017 16:28

How on earth could Labour have achieved 40% of the votes if only young people voted for them?! It's an absolutely facile and patronising thing to say.

I voted Labour, and I'm 57.

whereonthestair · 10/06/2017 16:30

My labour voting family are

75
72
48
44
43

My father who is the 75 year old used to vote libdem, never again.

I voted libdem in 1992 and 2005. Never again

I have got more left wing as I have got older (and richer, I would have been one paying more tax under their proposals).

TheWitchAndTrevor · 10/06/2017 16:33

Not that it's bad if students did vote Labour there.

It's just some people will not accept that it as a fair vote, and have to find an excuse or demean why it happened.

NecklessMumster · 10/06/2017 16:35

57 , and my dad who is 84

Muskey · 10/06/2017 16:39

bringonyourwreckingball · 10/06/2017 16:42

BunnyBunnyMooseMoose · 10/06/2017 16:46

All my family did: 67, 62, 52, 37, 36, 34

NoLoveofMine · 10/06/2017 16:47

My mum and dad, 47 and 48 respectively, both voted Labour. I would have if I'd been able to vote. I know of people on our road late 30s to 50s who voted Labour as well.

FurryGiraffe · 10/06/2017 16:49

35, DH 37. DB 29. DPs 63 and 61. All voted Labour.

Doglikeafox · 10/06/2017 16:50

I'm 19, voted labour. My partner is 25, voted labour. My grandparents are in their 70s and voted labour. Three close friends, all in their 40s, also voted labour and one in her 30s.
The only people I know for definite have voted conservative are my dad, 50, and my friend, also 19.
Can't say it follows much of a pattern near me.

LockedOutOfMN · 10/06/2017 16:51

I'm 39. My family who voted Labour are 72, 69, 44, 32 and 27.

Soozikinzii · 10/06/2017 16:54

sadeyedladyofthelowlands63 · 10/06/2017 16:54

TomHardysWhore · 10/06/2017 16:55

In my early 40's.
Parents in their 70's also voted Labour.
I will NEVER vote Tory.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 10/06/2017 16:59

I'm 47, DH is 52.

Craiconwithit · 10/06/2017 17:06

In my 50's and have never forgiven the Torys for their community bashing policies of the eighties.
Would also consider voting Green.
