To ask those who voted labour.. How old are you?

Not posting this to start a massive politics debate I'm just interested in the above question.

I voted labour, I put something about it on social media and a few older people have commented saying I obviously don't have "brains or life experience as them" & "young ones voting labour don't know what they are getting themselves in for".

I'm hoping I'll be proved wrong.
Not that it matters but I'm late 20s and those who made these comments range between 50-60.

Hope this doesn't come across as ageist, it's not my intention at all Blush

  1. Qualified vet with plenty of life experience.

I think Jeremy Corbyn is a breath of fresh air and I hate the rhetoric that anyone who supports his policies must be naive.

Me and DH in our 30s, both voted Labour. My DPs are 60s, they voted Labour. My DGM is in her 90s - she voted Labour...

grumpymummy72 · 10/06/2017 14:01

45 and DH 54. Higher rate tax payers happy to pay more in tax for health, social care and education.

chickpe · 10/06/2017 14:02

22, 24, 31, 51, 50, 55, 56, 61, 77, 80 - all three generations in our two families had Labour voters, spread from NW Scotland to SW England.

TartanHare · 10/06/2017 14:04

Late 30s. Husband mid 40s.
My parents are mid 60s and also voted Labour.
The main reason for this choice is the NHS.

MinkowskisButterfly · 10/06/2017 14:04

38 and husband who is 48 also voted labour. My mum who is 60 voted labour as well.

PinkDaffodil2 · 10/06/2017 14:04

  1. DB 32 also voted Labour. I can't speak about DB, but for me it's because I'm worried about the future of the NHS, about eductation and public services.

I'm quite disgusted at the sneeering attitude of these older people. For years they've whinged about youngsters not voting and when they do they do sneer at them for not voting the way they think they should. I see it like this, the baby boomers screwed us over by voting for Brexit and now this our payback.

38 and I voted for labour

abigamarone · 10/06/2017 14:12
  1. And my son is 20. I'll be okay under the Tories, personally, but maturity has given me the insight that life is not 'all about me'.
3boys3dogshelp · 10/06/2017 14:13

35 and also DH who is 39. I have voted every time but this was my first Labour vote.

PinkBuffalo · 10/06/2017 14:13

I'm in my 30s. Mum late 50s, dad late 60s all voted labour
My sister & bil in another constituency early & late 30s both labour.
All of us were genuinely surprised at the increase in the Tory majorities in our areas. I really though it would be closer than previously.

Hulder · 10/06/2017 14:14

My and DH - 41 and 43.

My DM is 76 - LD but would have been Labour in a different constituency.

We like having public services like the NHS and schools that work for everyone, despite paying higher rate tax. We were also mystified as to why having a PM who wanted to drop nuclear bombs was so important.

3boys3dogshelp · 10/06/2017 14:14
