To ask those who voted labour.. How old are you?

Not posting this to start a massive politics debate I'm just interested in the above question.

I voted labour, I put something about it on social media and a few older people have commented saying I obviously don't have "brains or life experience as them" & "young ones voting labour don't know what they are getting themselves in for".

I'm hoping I'll be proved wrong.
Not that it matters but I'm late 20s and those who made these comments range between 50-60.

Hope this doesn't come across as ageist, it's not my intention at all Blush

I voted SNP grumbles but if I was in England or Wales I would have definetely voted Labour. 19.

BaguettesAtMidnight · 10/06/2017 12:30

But so did my entire family - 19, 23, 48, 51, 77, 78.

I have many reasons for voting Labour, but I've been belittled many a time and dismissed for being young and naive and reliant on a magic money tree to whisk away my tuition fees 🙄

It's not like not having a hard Brexit, the NHS, police, teaching, keeping the Tories out and Theresa May far away from Brexit negotiations etc. factored into my decision making at all..

Tazerface · 10/06/2017 12:31

I'm 34, husband is 36. I don't know anyone in real life who voted Conservative. DH and I both Labour, I suspect some people voted LibDem or maybe Green but even if people don't divulge who they will vote for they do tell who they won't vote for!

I am in Liverpool which I think makes a difference.

MikeUniformMike · 10/06/2017 12:32

50ish and voted Labour. Mainly because I thought that it was the strongest candidate for the constituency. The Tory leaflet contained very little about the Tory candidate, and the LibDem candidate seemed decent enough, but I thought it was better to vote Labour to try and keep a little spot of red on the map here in the South East. The Labour candidate won hands down.

MoominFlaps · 10/06/2017 12:33

I'm 28, my partner is 33. Both Labour.

My parents aged 53 and 67 both voted Labour, as did my 82 year old Grandmother.

thenightsky · 10/06/2017 12:34

I'm 58 and DH is 64.

tinypop4 · 10/06/2017 12:34
  1. Dh is 38. Parents and parents in law are all 65 or 66 and all voted labour. So did many of my friends ranging from late twenties to mid 40s

Have voted tory and lib dem in the past, voted labour last time because I coudn't stand smug cameron and labour this time as I like Jezza and his policies.

I'm 46.

GloriaV · 10/06/2017 12:37

This is MN - you won't get many 80 year olds on here so not really a balanced picture.

Crunchymum · 10/06/2017 12:38

Almost 37

TheDonald · 10/06/2017 12:39
  1. I have been a party member since 2010.

My dad is 69 and voted Labour but is usually conservative. He did it because he's a rare baby boom Remain voter and blames the Tories for taking us out of the EU.

Mil and fil 70 & 68 both out campaigning most days for Labour.

We're all old enough to remember Thatcher!

stuntcamel · 10/06/2017 12:39

18, several in 30's, 55, 63, 92

Quite a wide age range there.
