He's made a mockery of the Labour Party and won votes by creating a manifesto that the country could not afford to deliver!!!

Resign JC !!!

He's 71 years old. I can't see how he will still be leader in 2022. Interesting to see who comes next.

hackmum · 09/06/2017 11:09

"TM has brought a good level of national stability to this country..."

Are you on glue?

gillybeanz · 09/06/2017 11:09

Are you on glue OP.
It's only a matter of time before may is out or resigns.
Corbyn is only just starting.

PortiaCastis · 09/06/2017 11:10

How is someone who was born in 1949 71years old ?

IHateUncleJamie · 09/06/2017 11:12

He only got those votes due to his undeliverable manifesto! He fooled all of his supporters - he knew he would never win hence creating an absurd manifesto just to win seats

Gosh, OP - you've got some nerve coming on here and trying to make out that Labour supporters are thick, easily fooled, and only voted for a manifesto.

Corbyn's Socialist values are the antithesis of Blair's warmongering centrism. That's why I'm now a Labour voter. Not to mention May's attempted destruction of the NHS/Police/Emergency Services and the Tories' inhumane treatment of the poor, sick and disabled.

The only people being sucked in and fooled are readers and believers of The Sun & the Daily Mail. That would be Right Wing idiots then.

paxillin · 09/06/2017 11:13

Time travel? I think he turned 68 two weeks ago.

mummabubs · 09/06/2017 11:13

This is literally the silliest post I've ever read on Mumsnet!! The man wins two internal leadership elections by a clear majority backing and then goes on to gain more support for Labour than ever precedented. People weren't suckered into magical money tree manifesto promises- they saw a fully costed plan that added up, headed by a gentleman with sound values that would lead our country into a fairer society.

WateryTart · 09/06/2017 11:13

Oops. I misremembered. He'll still be too old to become PM in 2022. He'd be 78 by the end of his term. He has to go before the next election.

Smellbellina · 09/06/2017 11:17

I'd be surprised if there isn't another election well before 2022

Thiscantreallybehappening · 09/06/2017 11:17

YANBU - I totally agree he got those votes on a manifesto of promises that would have serious consequences.

mummabubs · 09/06/2017 11:18

For what it's worth Waterytart- the queen is now really quite old. I'm guessing therefore she's too old to perform her job adequately and should abdicate as queen? Those who are older can still have perfect competency to do their jobs; as I have faith that Corbyn does and will in future too.

olliegarchy99 · 09/06/2017 11:21

pumpkin
it really is sad that so many people believe that young people purely voted to scrap tuition fees.

I am sure when the results are analysed it will show that young people not having experience of what labour do/did were swayed by social media and 'sweeties' from the labour manifesto (which would have bankrupted the country') - so to suggest otherwise is foolish.
JC is showing his arrogance by punching the air as if he had won and suggesting TM should resign (who had more votes than he did Angry)

tabbymog · 09/06/2017 11:23

Still awake here... hilarious, OP, thanks for the laugh. That's some powerful glue you have there. Grin

Thiscantreallybehappening · 09/06/2017 11:25

meant to add - TM had a dreadful campaign, not doing debates, not appearing on TV for interviews. Saying the election was about Brexit then derailing it with her social care package. Then JC came up with the manifesto of promises and a very high profile campaign organised by Momentum. TM was always on the back foot trying to justify everything. Even so, they are still the party with the most MPs and they still got a bigger share of the vote. Just think what they could have done if TM had run a better campaign.

Smellbellina · 09/06/2017 11:26

I agree young people are unlikely to vote against the current Labour party based on how a Labour government performed 40 years ago.
Surely no one would seriously expect them to?

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 09/06/2017 11:29

Enough already with the griping about a magic fucking money tree.

The Labour manifesto was clearly costed.

The Tory one was not.

People voted for Labour because they finally got the message that austerity doesn't work, the slashing of our services is putting us all at risk, we have people so poor that foodbanks are common and homelessness is becoming more and more obvious.

Austerity is punishing the poor, while the rich are left to crack on with their tax avoidance and sucking money from public services.

RhythmStix · 09/06/2017 11:32

Poor old OP.......I would say I feel pity for you and your idol Theresa May..........but I don't Grin

I would just walk away from this thread now- you will never ever win it back Grin. Suck it up dear.

Thiscantreallybehappening · 09/06/2017 11:33

Lana - The IFS said the Labour manifesto didn't add up and they could not possibly raise all the money they needed to through extra taxes.

I do agree that Conservatives should have had a costed manifesto too.

notomatoes · 09/06/2017 11:33

QuiteLikely5 I like you, you are funny. I remember you from other political threads and I am glad you have kept up your strong (and stable!) beliefs in the face of adversity or, indeed, any kind of debate from anyone outside of your particular sphere.

Thing is though, people don't all agree with you. Some actually like Jeremy Corbyn! It doesn't mean they have been tricked or are fools. They just have a different opinion to you.

However, I know you won't understand that, so I look forward to reading your posts over the next few days.

CleopatraTheCatLover · 09/06/2017 11:36

Yabu

Faithless · 09/06/2017 11:37

olleigarchy carry on making comments like that, please do. It is that kind of patronising, ignorant and offensive tosh that helped to fire young people enough to get out and in the polling stations. The Tories better take note of this result, plus develop a sustainability plan as when all the old Daily Mail reading voters die off, they'll be history.

QuiteLikely5 · 09/06/2017 11:38

Stix

I don't feel like I have 'lost' the thread.

I stand by my title and there are a fair few on here who are quite enjoying JC but also plenty who agree with me. Perhaps you haven't read the full thread??

TM is going to be PM and in that sense I don't feel like I've 'lost' at all Grin

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 09/06/2017 11:39

ollie
That was a fucking patronising post.

How dare you suggest that people voted for "sweeties"like all Labour voters are children.

I voted Labour because I want an end to companies and corporations getting away with tax avoidance, while disabled people suffer and millions are forced to use foodbanks.

I want an end to the slashing of vital public services like the police and NHS.

I want an end to the culture of private companies sucking up tax money in the guise of contracts and shareholders getting rich, while the services suffer.

I want an end to seriously ill and disabled people being assesed by private companies (tax money again!) with no medical training, leading to distress and often the cutting of vital benefits/ being forced into work which they are completely incapable of doing, often resulting in more illness.

I want an end to the mentality of punishing the poor, for mistakes and deliberate schemes by banks and corporations.

I want a fairer country.

mayoli · 09/06/2017 11:39

First it's 'JC should resign, nobody believes in him'. Now it's 'JC should resign, too many people voted for him!'

Seriously?
