He's made a mockery of the Labour Party and won votes by creating a manifesto that the country could not afford to deliver!!!

Resign JC !!!

I actually think JC WILL end up going before the next election actually.

I think much of Labour's success has been securing the anti-Tory/anti-Hard Brexit vote, rather than the positive JC vote. So much of their campaign was all about 'how to keep the Tories out' (which it looks as if they have FAILED to do btw...) with their websites & apps which told people what to vote to create maximum damage to the Con vote in each constituency.

The PLP still hate him - Yvette Cooper was almost choking when she had to utter some positive words about him this morning. I am sure there are already lots of younger, more dynamic Labour MPs who feel he has created an opportunity which they'll be keen to capitalise on by side-lining him at the earliest possible opportunity.

paxillin · 09/06/2017 11:40

I think the patronising "money tree", "Brexit means Brexit", "Strong and stable" and "coalition of chaos" were contributing to people not voting for her. We are not dumb and can be trusted to grasp concepts.

As for causing anarchy, TM called the election in the mistaken belief she is super popular. Did some people expect the opposition not to stand? I think TM thought they wouldn't really field anyone.

Thirdly, running a campaign based on personality only works if you have on, TM.

Smartie007 · 09/06/2017 11:41

Weak and Wobbly TM should resign IMHO

olliegarchy99 · 09/06/2017 11:42

faithless - I have reported your post as a personal attack. It was extremely offensive to me but then I am a polite person.
I would only expect to be called 'patronising and ignorant' on mumsnet by a labour supporter who cannot bear anyone to have a differant opinion. Pathetic really Hmm

QuiteLikely5 · 09/06/2017 11:43

Tomato I do understand people like JC but I think he should resign. Yes he has pulled off a great campaign but that is literally all he has done!

Now labour need someone in there to maintain and build on what he has achieved.

Because when it comes to day to day politics JC has shown on a persistent basis that he is not up to the job! And that goes for many of his team

Over 70% of young people voted in this election. that is unprecedented. Probably not even 40% of 18-24 year olds even go to university, so to say that they voted solely on tuition fees is ludicrous and patronising.

MoominFlaps · 09/06/2017 11:43

is showing his arrogance by punching the air as if he had won and suggesting TM should resign

Really? JC is the arrogant one? Not TM, who called an election based on the fact she assumed her party would walk it?

MoominFlaps · 09/06/2017 11:44

What should he have done that he hasn't? Enlighten me.

I am partly in agreement with the OP.

Corbyn has done well, but IMO it's nigh on impossible to deliver all he has promised.

If he gets to be PM, the country is royally fucked IMO.

We will be bankrupt within a year.

Saggingninja · 09/06/2017 11:45

So of course he bloody shouldn't. He spoke to the younger generation in a way no other Labour candidate ever did. In fact my son and his mates in Canterbury - thanks to their votes - swung a Labour victory in a constituency that has been Tory for over a hundred years!!

ethelfleda · 09/06/2017 11:45

YABU!!!

olliegarchy99 · 09/06/2017 11:45

lana
I have also repported your post - especially for swearing at me
I am entitled to my opinion. Clear enough and I stand by what I wrote.
Nowhere did I attack anyone Angry

notomatoes · 09/06/2017 11:46

olliegarchy99 How is that a personal attack exactly?

QuiteLikely5 · 09/06/2017 11:46

Ravenblack thank you!!

I love Clive Lewis. i work in his constituency. It would have been a travesty if he had lost to the Conservative candidate who was awful. I hope he'll be party leader one day. There are quite a few labour MP's who I wouldnt mind being leader, but if I was Tory, Id be seriously worried. I cant think of anyone. Ruth Davison maybe.

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 09/06/2017 11:47

Sorry ollie but it is you who is coming across as arrogant and patronising.

But you keep on with the whole Tory stereotype, it really helps us!

Xenophile · 09/06/2017 11:47

This thread is comedy gold.

TM's arrogance and complete lack of policies and personality lose an election that should have been a landslide, and Corbyn should resign? Despite his being endlessly smeared in the news media? And people with no clue whining on about "magic money trees"?

Are you passing round whatever it is you're smoking? I might enjoy a trip to the lala land you've toddled off to.

And those people who are insinuating that youth who voted Labour only did it for "sweeties" or are too stupid and ill-informed to understand the issues? YOU are why TM lost big. Bask in that.

Saggingninja · 09/06/2017 11:47

No we will not be bankrupt. Because the people who ARE bankrupting this country are the Tory billionaire mates who are squirrelling their tax money away in tax free havens. Arseholes like Phillip Green who have been getting away with shit like this for DECADES.

notomatoes · 09/06/2017 11:47

Oh I see! Anyone who mentions you is personally attacking you?

Grin

I suppose I am now too?

QuiteLikely5 · 09/06/2017 11:48

I do love a good debate but I have to go out!!!

Love to all - it's only politics and no bad intent meant to any posters as I do appreciate diversity Smile

OP posts:
LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 09/06/2017 11:49

Gosh you are throwing your toys out the pram aren't you?

Rather than report my post, how about you have an actual debate with me?

Care to address any of the things I said I voted Labour for??

@MNHQ
Delete my post if you think it really was a personal attack- but then where would this debate go if I can't call out someone for being exactly what they said??

QuiteLikely5 · 09/06/2017 11:50

Oh and one last thing - I do not believe any party is perfect - including the Tories - of course there are things I want them to change and to that end I might visit my newly elected local Tory MP to discuss Grin

OP posts:
ethelfleda · 09/06/2017 11:50

Can Tory voters not see that they have been royally screwed over by TM?? Still the blame on JC! Even the media changed its tune this morning!

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 09/06/2017 11:51
