He's made a mockery of the Labour Party and won votes by creating a manifesto that the country could not afford to deliver!!!

I'm quite sad that some people only think that young people voted for free uni fees, not about the large divide between the rich and poor, not about the most vulnerable people in society are the ones being the targeted victims of cuts, not because the NHS is being destroyed.

No the reason that young people voted is because of uni fees, I think some people can't vote for anything other than their own interests so they think everyone else must.

I think Jason Manford said something which represents the thoughts of a lot of Labour voters "I voted for the many, not the few. Happy to pay more tax if nurses who've looked after my kids don't have to use food banks to feed theirs."

People want a better society, we can be a better society if we really want it.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 10/06/2017 10:21

Agreed. And if the older generations keep accusing the youth of this how mobilised Do you think they will be at the next election huh

They have seen the power of their vote. Good. It's about time we all started respecting them. They are the future.

You think they aren't aware the NHS is fucked? That they can't buy a house? That there is no job security? No pension security? Climate fucking change?

Shame on you patronising gilded lillies sitting with your jobs and houses how probably had free education to third level. Equity in your houses. I'm bloody angry for them that you have this attitude

It will come back to bite you......the young don't care about winter fuel allowances or triple lock pensions or dementia taxes.

TheSultanofPingu · 10/06/2017 10:43

Great post ever.

BartholinsSister · 10/06/2017 10:47

However, ever, as they get older they might question whether voting Labour would actually solve any of those problems.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 10/06/2017 11:02

Thanks sultan

Yes Barth but their version of solved I don't think will match ours. We have a generation that is kinder more outward looking more compassionate less bigoted than any before them. The challenges they face can not be solved using the dated macro and micro economic policies the parties have always shoved in front of us. If you value experience, people and participation higher than economic advantage you aren't going to listen to the Tories. If the greasy pole isn't there and isn't wanted how do you create policies they want?

They voted for Corbyn as he is an allotment using vegetarian anti consumerist who has little regard for money or extravagance and seems to care about his fellow man. These are the values. I bloody love that they are humanists. They are better than I was

Well said, ever ! Flowers Star

Scandelicious · 10/06/2017 11:32

Bloody hell. Now I've heard it all. I totally don't get this cult of personality that's been built up around Corbyn. Voting for him because he's vegetarian?! Hitler was a bloody vegetarian!

Scandelicious · 10/06/2017 12:02

Just to clarify not saying that Corbyn is hitler! Don't like the man but that might ve pushing it! I'm saying it's ridiculous to vote for someone because they're vegetarian

ghostyslovesheets · 10/06/2017 12:16

that is not what that post said though is it

Dawndonnaagain · 10/06/2017 12:16

Scandelicious Hitler wasn't a vegetarian, it's a myth.

dailyshite · 10/06/2017 12:18

Have only read page 1 (will read the rest now), but OP - are you on drugs? The man was the best thing about this ridiculous election.

dailyshite · 10/06/2017 12:23

I think the fact that some people think that young people only voted labour because of tuition fees says far more about them than the 'young people' they refer to, ever's posts are spot on.

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 10/06/2017 12:38

captain

I agree

I think people accusing the young voters of voting for purely selfish reasons vote very selfishly themselves. And cant understand that there can be a different way

BartholinsSister · 10/06/2017 14:57

They voted for Corbyn as he is an allotment using vegetarian anti consumerist who has little regard for money or extravagance and seems to care about his fellow man.

As they get older they may find that 'caring about their fellow man' can be a very expensive activity. Housing, healthcare, welfare, and security etc require a considerable regard for money.

MoominFlaps · 10/06/2017 15:04

What about the older people who did vote Labour?

Dawndonnaagain · 10/06/2017 15:08

Good point, Moomin. I'm 58. I voted Labour.

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 10/06/2017 15:09

@QuiteLikely5 are you OK? you've gone very quiet....... I wondered if you were a bit off colour when you started this thread, now I'm convinced?

You've probably whipped yourself up into a bit of a frenzy and needed to go and lie down in a nice dark (blue) room, but we miss you!

citroenpresse · 10/06/2017 15:17

I voted Labour for exactly the same reasons as my son. Hope over hate every every time.

7461Mary18 · 10/06/2017 15:27

There aer a lot of different reasons people support May and people support Corbyn. It is very hard to generalise. Yes student fees may be one (not my twins' reasons to support Corbyn even though they are 18). Others it will be the foxes who will always come first. Others have strong views on Brexit. Others on state spending.

User12345678912345 · 10/06/2017 15:32

Yes! You are being very very unreasonable!! If his MPs had backed him and the media werent so against him he probably would have got a majority. A lot of the members, and a lot of the public think he's good, and I'm one of them! Actually, he's the reason I voted labour for the first time ever!

TheNaze73 · 10/06/2017 15:38

I think it would be a disaster if he resigned. He's celebrating losing an election like he's won the European Song Contest, the World Cup, Henley Regatta & the 6 Nations Rugby.

Yeah, Labour win most improved player but, we all know how bad that means they were last season. 3 election losses out of 3. Long may it continue

MoominFlaps · 10/06/2017 16:23

It won't continue long naze, with the Tories as they currently are.

WallisofWindsor · 10/06/2017 16:41

QuiteLikely5 Why are you so worked up about JC - (apart from making him sound Jesus Christ)?, Your favorite candidate won, so go on rejoice, make merry and let JC stay where he is with his manifesto Confused

Scandelicious · 10/06/2017 17:28

It's a myth hitler was a vegetarian?! I never knew!!

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 10/06/2017 17:47

scandelicious

I dont think its a complete myth

My understanding is that he generally followed a vegetarian diet...

Not for any 'moral' reasons...just that he had the most dreadful wind when he ate meat
