We're in a safe Tory seat but I have never written to ours, never seen, him, he doesn't campaign - doesn't need to, not really sure what he could and would do for me/the community.

What local/personal issues does you MP help you/the local community help with?

You need to badger him/her. Email about every issue. Keep going until they reply. It's what I do.

Blanketdog · 09/06/2017 01:42

What issues though?

Anything that's important to you

Is it just ours that never gets involved in the community....that we never hear from, from one election till the next?

I have written to mine to ask him to consider voting a particular way on specific issues.

I see my MP all the time. She speaks at school assemblies, comes to community events, holds public meetings about local issues, speaks at political meetings and demos, talks to local people affected by various issues before raising them in parliament or voting on them, helps out at local charities and community fundraisers, and has helped people I know with problems with housing, tax credits etc.

I see her out and about around once a month.

BandeauSally · 09/06/2017 01:55

Ours is fantastic. She gets involved in loads of community issues. Unfortunately it looks like she is losing her seat to a waste of space SF who won't take his fucking seat in Westminster! Angry who the fuck votes for that??

Blanketdog · 09/06/2017 01:56

Broomstick That is what I think/want an MP should do but sadly I've yet to see it!

My local MP got me bumped up the toenail surgery list when it was constantly infected and needed to come off. The hospital were telling me months, and that just wasn't okay with how severe it was, so I wrote to my MP and they intervened on my behalf and got me an appointment within two weeks Smile
