Accidentally going to the races, AIBU to wear jeans?

Just that really.
Booked tickets for the Clean bandit gig at Sandown and only just realised it was going to be at the end of the flat racing. Can I still wear my planned outfit of jeans and Converse or am I gonna be thrown out on my arse?

Oh - and can I just turn up for the gig or do I have to sit through a race or two first?

Clueless, I'm telling you. I can't remember the last time I went to any kind of gig (the joys of having small people, huh?), so this development has completely thrown me for a loop.

I'd imagine you would have to wait till race goers are gone before they start admitting the people for the gig? I used to go racing all the time but never the big meetings like Ascot etc and used to wear jeans, as did my Dad. Usually the dress up days are Ascot, Cheltenham etc on their ladies days.

Just googled it, they start 15 minutes after the last race which is 815 so I'd imagine they will be on about 830/845. You should try and catch the last couple of races, it's good fun and jeans etc will be fine. Have fun!

Check what enclosure you're in. You should be fine though. I'm seeing her at Newmarket.

Jeans is generally fine at the racing. It is just on particular days/races that people get dressed up.

Thanks Brittbugs and bluesky - think we'll take in a couple, just unexpected (and a lot later than I thought, as I originally thought it was a really early gig and was smugly pleased I'd be able to get home for an early night still! lol)

TheNaze - Don't think we're in any particular enclosure... better go check tickets! I just remember it saying 'standing'
