I'm saturated. So here's a lighthearted thread.
What food takes you right back to being a kid?
Mine might be salad cream sandwiches on cheap white bread! Yum.

Egg mashed in a cup and toast
Square sausage and potato cakes
Mother's Pride in paper wrapping
Mince n tatties
Cremola Foam
Chips cooked in a chip pan
A fry up with a cup of tea on a Saturday afternoon while listening to the football results coming in with my Dad.

Yep, I'm aware my diet doesn't sound like it was the best but my god I was happy!!

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 07/06/2017 16:08

Cheesy mash.
Mash and ham and lettuce- I used to make a weird wrap with the ham and put the mash and lettuce in the middle.
Pasta with beans and cheese.
Those jelly sweets you got in strips from Woolies. They had a really greasy texture but I miss them so much. (veggie stuff is not the same!)

Dandandandandandandan · 07/06/2017 16:10

I was desperate to try those birds puddings - the advert said "just whistle" (like a kettle, you added boiling water) and they had a crunchy topping, but my DM would never ever buy them. Did anyone ever try them?

Brittbugs80 · 07/06/2017 16:10

Pineapple Rock, cola cubes and my absolute favourites, salt and vinegar super crunchies and cheese snaps!!!!

I wish I could time travel!

Dandandandandandandan · 07/06/2017 16:12

The internet tells me they were called birds instant hot crunch pudding, and they came in lemon, banana or chocolate.

Damn you, healthy eating mother. Damn you. I ended up fat anyway 😭

Oysterbabe · 07/06/2017 16:12

Oh yeah buying 1/4s of pear drops, rhubarb and custard etc from the shop. I realise you can still do this in some places but I generally don't.

Justmuddlingalong · 07/06/2017 16:20

Remember the massive boxes of chocolates with pictures on the front of kittens, thatched cottages and vases of flowers etc?

ForalltheSaints · 07/06/2017 16:21
