Comey asked why he documented the meetings he had with Trump.

"I worried he might lie. I knew there might come a day when I might need a record of what happened, not just for myself but for the FBI." A combination of things... then Comey went on to say because it was a particular person (Trump) and now goes on to say he didn't feel the need to do this with Bush or Obama.

C; I was alone with the Pres. The subject matter and the 'nature of the person'. I was concerned he might lie about our meetings.

W; Did you create this records because you felt they would be needed at a later date.

C; yes. I felt I might need them to defend myself AND the integrity of the FBI.

W; Is this the only Pres you've felt it was necessary to do so?

C; I've only met with Bush and Obama. I never felt the need to document with either.
