Goodness. If that opening statement is true...........

Oh my God, that was a satisfying read. Comey is one sharp operator and a good writer. The little details like the small oval table in the green room and the grandfather clock really help to pain the picture. DH and I have sat and read it in paralle on our phones. At one point DH said we should pause to recognise a point in history. That summary is so clear, detailed and acutely observed I am reminded of the precision and clarity of Sally Yates' testimony.

Indeed. I thought the detail about the navy guys only coming in the room to serve food and leaving immediately was obviously sufficiently unusual to warrant such pointed mention. I thought the use of the word "implored" in the paragraph about asking Sessions to ensure he wasn't left alone with Trump was also highly significant - it is such a carefully worded summary.

This is all a very murky business. I would like to know the provenance of the piece before anything else.

It's been published on the official Senate Intelligence website Cozie and all the major news outlets are reporting on it so I'd say it's authentic.
