I'm really scared after the terrorist attacks, it must be awful for people living in countries where they are even more so prevalent. I know we should carry on as normal as that's what they don't want to see but I'm really scared Sad how can I get over this? Anyone else feel like this? I've only seen one other post on MN of someone who was scared enough to get of a train so feel in a minority... I don't live in London by the way, I'm in Wales.....

To put it bluntly, stiff upper lip and keep calm and carry on is bullshit. If you're scared, I am sorry - it sucks and I know, because I understand and feel the same.
Fear is a natural emotion but people are being arses about displaying that emotion at the moment because apparently we missed the day at school where they have out the steel balls and the empathy shields, I think it was the day after the period talk.

Fuck the Blitz spirit, I admire people who can do it but we aren't all wired the same way. As long as we don't decend into attacking people then we are entitied to our fear.

Yoga and audio books are helping me, as is medication.

They might just not be brave enough to admit how scared they are.

I like a nice long walk.

I'm scared too. I am old enough to remember the IRA bombings but this seems different somehow, I can't put my finger on it though.

I'm still going to London this week but do feel uneasy. I've read all the statistics and know the risk is minimal but I know I will feel anxious.

YANBU, definitely not. You're not alone in being afraid. Sadly, there is no rational answer or solution. The terrorists will push and push, and eventually an anti-Islam faction will bite and civil war will follow (which is exactly the result the bastards want).

The "One Love" concert was admirable, but I fear we're sitting on a ticking time-bomb. I sincerely believe secularism is the way forward, perhaps our only hope.

I find it bizarre that in the 21st Century people are still being murdered over imaginary gods. Folks in the future will surely scoff at our ignorance and the needless bloodshed over religious differences.
