To consider sterilisation

I'm 30, have 3 children aged 8 months - 5 years and don't want any more.
Has anyone else been sterilised and had any ill effects?
Husband wanted vasectomy but we cannot afford to pay privately.

Shocking. Surely 1 vasectomy at £400 is much cheaper than one or more terminations or pregnancies? What a short sighted policy.
