Voting Conservative means we can protect public services better.

😂😂😂😂

Giddyaunt18 · 06/06/2017 19:31

I voted Cons last time, have voted Labour in the past too. I was happy to to see TM lead us through brexit. When she called the election I wa so surprised, what a waste of money I thought and what a distraction from the brexit process. Still, I though ti'd still vote for Cons. Then I started to listen to the debates, I like what Corbyn had to say. I started to see TM buckle and fluster. I have 2 DDs planning on getting degrees, I am a TA in a state school.I had a crime to report, the officer was the only beat officer for half the town. They lost me. Postal vote sent. JC has it.

Voting Conservative means we can protect public services better.

I'm curious to know what this means too?

PigletJohn · 06/06/2017 22:39

By chanting slogans.

voting conservative means that we can better protect public services

So I'm chair of a primary school. We have managed to get through the last budget round by using all of our reserves. We are good at finding grants and we have reviewed everything and cut everything we can. We have always been prudent which is why we had reserves and we are from one of the poorest funded areas in the country We have a full role. By 2022 we are predicted to lose £80k of funding. This is two teachers (at least) or practically all of our TA budget. We have one teacher per class so not loads of teachers.
We have worked really hard to create a great school. To cope with the cut we would have classes of 40 plus or no TAs including for higher needs children.
We children's senior school will lose 17% plus of their budget. It again is avert good school.
I take a breath every time I hear we have a child with SEN that needs a TA because we have to find the first £6K of their salary. That's more than the funding we get per child. Quite a lot more.
I'm a volunteer and Im more stressed and worried about this situation.
Some schools in our area are planning to close one day a week.
How is this protecting public services?

Theworldisfullofidiots · 06/06/2017 22:43

Sorry for the typos - tired from a day at work and then having a meeting about school budgets.

Vango · 06/06/2017 22:48

Flowers Theworld. I don't know how you do it. I really don't. Anyone voting for further cuts to the education budget should hang their heads in shame. A race to the bottom, that's all it is.

TattyCat · 06/06/2017 22:54

Shhhhhh. We're t'silent majority'.... busy reading t'stuff that'll 'elp us in t'coming days while coppin' a penk at t'silly sods thinking owt will make t'difference. 'Appen.

As a young person under 25 with a child under 5, I don't want MY future affected in terms of housing, education and also career prospects. I also don't want my DD future affected neither in the next 10+ years.
I want to be a police officer, yet this is becoming a distant dream due to limited opportunities and further cuts to the services available.
I just about manage to pay all my bills, run a car and put food on the table with no support from family, and I have very little money available for savings or to spend on luxuries. I work stupid hours in my current job and burn myself out regularly.
I'm voting labour for the first time, I dislike all party leaders but I've gone via policies this time around. I voted Tory last time and done a complete U-turn this time.

I was visiting Manchester 2 days prior to the terrorist attack, and was in London on Saturday when the latest one happened. I saw no police on high streets prior to these incidents occurring... why, because there isn't enough of them to be policing the streets!!!

A couple of my friends are training to be nurses or are recently qualified. They're struggling to live as it is and are run into the ground with their working hours. If Tories stay in power then we're receiving more cuts, and we're saying goodbye to our public services.

gunting · 07/06/2017 08:18

@Pritchyx I think we live very similar lives. It is so hard to balance everything as a young person with a child. It's almost impossible.

makeourfuture · 07/06/2017 08:23

As a young person under 25

Well spoken. Thanks for your guidance, we old people need more of it!

Petronius16 · 07/06/2017 09:08

My default vote has always been Labour though for a couple of elections I voted Lib Dem to keep the Tories out - didn't work last time as the monied Party targeted the seat and duly won.

A few days ago I postal voted for Labour because of its policies.

saying what people wnat to hear posted OP, and that's why I still think the Tories will win. The majority will vote to keep taxes down, get rid of EU legislation, such as human rights (even though nothing to do with EU), Elf and Safety (most of which was based on UK legislation) get rid of foreigners and, of course, all those people who live on benefits (even though the majority are in work).

Just think, Corbyn has never slagged off anyone, he doesn't make it personal, yet for some reason many voters appear to believe the personal attacks on him.

So, the Tories will win because they have stepped into the gutter in order to do so. Could be an increased majority, I hope not because the very last thing this country needs is an unfettered Tory government.

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 07/06/2017 10:20

@7461Mary18 are you on drugs????

How exactly does voting Conservative protect our public services.
I'm all ears.......

Or keep us safe?

Sostenueto · 08/06/2017 09:04

Well just back from voting and my 2 dds just voted. We live in a county that is all tory which seems so odd as the majority of our county is deprived. We voted with our conscious and hope others do the same. I will pray Mays majority does not become reality and I have done my best and only thing I could do and that is to vote. Peace to all xxx

waitforitfdear · 08/06/2017 09:10

Yes she will win and reluctantly we all voted Tory as can't abide Corbyn and his front bench team are appalling. Totally blame the idiots who voted Corbyn party leader. Tragic as we need a strong opposition to any government.

Andrewofgg · 08/06/2017 09:12

Theresa May may have done. Teresa May is a retired porn star. I know nothing of her politics?

Believeitornot · 08/06/2017 09:14

Totally blame the idiots who voted Corbyn party leader

Makes no sense. Why vote Tory reluctantly? The complete opposite to what labour could offer? Because of the leader? We vote for parties not presidents.

waitforitfdear · 08/06/2017 09:33

No you vote for policies and you Vote for the team you think can deliver those policies.

Like most of the policies but no way can they team deliver them.

Still thankfully we live in s democracy and we all have s view and a vote so let's see how things go.

It's interesting that's for sure.

Believeitornot · 08/06/2017 09:53

The Tories haven't delivered on their promises.

123MothergotafleA · 08/06/2017 10:06

Still dithering about what to do, normally would vote C., but am most reluctant to do so today. Might have to be Lib Dem or something irrelevant.

waitforitfdear · 08/06/2017 10:09

Andrew

Is that true? And stop watching porn. Grin

waitforitfdear · 08/06/2017 10:10

Believe

They never deliver on their promises.

If you think labour will you live in fairy land
