To ask for help because I've banged my head...

It's my own stupid fault I jumped on the bed and went backwards into the headboard (wooden pokey out thing).

I banged the back of my head but the front of it hurts and I've got ringing in my ears and feel a bit spaced out.

This was about 10mims ago is this normal?

If it hurts at front, and you banged head at back, you need medical attention. Tonight.

Probably fine, but if you've banged your brain, you need to be seen.

111

WorldsacpeLove · 02/06/2017 22:51

@Notso - I did something similar. Thought I had just hit my ear, flew home and had a serious head injury. Four months in a stroke unit later...

I don't bloody mess around with head bangs now. Any concerns, get it checked.

Pumperthepumper · 02/06/2017 22:53

My retina detached when I bashed my head, definitely get it checked out.

ChildishGambino · 02/06/2017 22:54

I had proper concussion and felt like my arms weren't my own...then the book I was reading was slipping away to elsewhere and then I kinda couldn't walk, or see.

Then the puking started...you'll know...

rightwhine · 02/06/2017 22:58

Hope you are ok

GooodMythicalMorning · 02/06/2017 23:02

pumper could you feel something not right with your eye or did you find out only when you got checked out?

PossibiliTea · 02/06/2017 23:07

Advice is (in my case only) if no continued dizziness, nausea or changes in vision/speech no action required but have someone with me for 48hrs. If feel unwell or any bleeding / major changes go to A&E.

Thanks for your responses, always best to get medical advice it was more of a WWYD an experiences. I'm so bloody clumsy!

Were you jumping up and down on the bed? Grin

PossibiliTea · 03/06/2017 00:34

Pea Grin I wish I was that would sound less idiotic haha!

Was a bit over enthusiastic when I jumped on just to sit on it and bounced back.

Poor OP. I could have written your thread too as I've done that. I was wearing a satiny slip thing, leapt up on the bed, shot up and banged my head on the headboard. It happens. Glad you're ok. Grin

PossibiliTea · 03/06/2017 17:57

Lying hope you were ok! I rang 111 because of everyone's advice and a local primary care place rang me, seemed to think it was OK if no confusion, nausea etc.

It's so easy done isn't it! I injure myself now more than I did when I was a child I think haha

I was fine, thanks PossibiliTea, and it's not the first time I've done it either. I think heads are a bit more robust than we think when it comes to knocking them . I'm glad you have no ill-effects from yours either. Grin
