to tell my mum to CALM THE FUCK DOWN...

I love my mum dearly. she separated from my 'dad' about 13 years ago and was single for 10. She met a lovely man 3 years ago and they are both so obviously loved up. They get married in August and she is so excited but she is turning bridezilla. Snapping, constantly worrying, loads of phone calls. I know she wants it to be perfect and she had such a crap marriage last time around, so do I tell her to try and calm down? Or just leave her to rant on like a wild woman?

Leave her to rant on like a wild woman - she must be nervous as hell and August will come and go soon enough. Just keep counting to ten and gritting your teeth.

oh god, sorry I meant August 2018!

August 2018?! Why wait that long?

If she's like this now, what is she going to be like nearer the time?!

Hassled · 02/06/2017 21:03

August 18?? Blimey. I reverse my original post - tell her to calm the fuck down. She'll be on blood pressure tablets by August 18 at this rate. Any way you can get her to bring it forward?

TitaniasCloset · 02/06/2017 21:06

Yeah, she needs to chill.

icantfindagoodname · 02/06/2017 21:19

She has gone from dress shopping every week to 'I dont even want one' to the food being wrong, the coloyr scheme changing, sgmhe doesnt like bridesmaids dresses to suit all 3, she needs to look at a thousand cars for transport, and all sorts of other crap. She has turned wild! The only thing she is happy with is the venue but she forgot 2 guests and now the room she wanted is too small!

YANBU. Listening to that constantly until August 2018 will drive you insane.

jeaux90 · 02/06/2017 21:34

Tell her she is going to organise the fun out of her own wedding if she doesn't stop.

icantfindagoodname · 02/06/2017 21:35

I just want her to have the wedding day she deserves but dear lord, I cannot listen to it for 14 MONTHS!

NO ONE in the whole History of Time has ever calmed down by being told to 'calm the fuck down'!

Nothing more useful to add though.

icantfindagoodname · 02/06/2017 21:47

inna very good point

ItsNotRocketScienceThough · 02/06/2017 21:51

no - poor you. Anyway to encourage her to move it forward and go for something stylishly simple?

SparklyUnicornPoo · 02/06/2017 22:03

Pay two of the guests to pretend to be busy that day so she can keep her venue? She needs to calm the fuck down but maybe don't word it like that.

icantfindagoodname · 02/06/2017 22:11

The wedding is for 20 people, with no extra evening guests! She can't brjng forward because 4 of the guests are coming from California, but at this rate she shall have room for 1 my guest, dear lord.
