To think this was a slightly inappropriate demonstration from our local lib dems candidates in our town centre?

So I was ambling through town with dp and the kids earlier and could hear some, what I assumed was, some rather loud busking. Very anti Tory, sweary, just general anti politics stuff. As we got closer we realised it was coming from the local lib dems stall. We were approached by them, and my daughter very helpfully announced 'we're voting labour!' The female local candidate pounced with a lot of anti Corbyn propaganda, basically saying he was responsible for brexit (Hmm) as well as 'Liar Liar' playing next to us with a 'Fuck Brexit' sticker on it! Anyway, my partner is very political and not easily swayed from his views. He asked some simple questions, such as 'what will you do if there's a hung parliament' where she replied 'I'm hoping to colate with the conservatives' I was abit Shock at this after her anti brexit speech. She was just incredibly rude and forceful. She kept rubbing my kids hair basically saying 'think about your children and what brexit means. My partners reply was 'yeah I am and that's why we're voting on policies alongside brexit, it's not just a one issue election'. She gave us a leaflet with some very wrong facts on, and while my partner was very courteous, she just looked like she wanted to thump him. She said something along the lines of 'I hate it when voters are one track minded and don't look at the whole picture', which of course, we do. That's how we landed where we are. But to insult us on our choice when you're supposed to be trying to get us to like you seemed incredibly detrimental to her cause. I was talking to the south member on the airlines and he seemed visibly uncomfortable and after a couple of minutes dragged her away to speak to someone who did want to vote LD.
I understand politics can be dirty, with a lot of mud slinging. But I guess I'm so used to it being in headlines that to actually talk to someone like it face to face took me aback! With the sweary songs in the background on the sticker on the speaker, as well as the aggressive manner, I can honestly say any doubt in my mind of voting for them has instantly gone! Aibu and sensitive or is it a little odd?

YANBU my local lib dems put me off years ago with their negative campaigning.

Was she actually touching your dc's hair while talking to you? That in itself is odd.

Yeah. She kept stroking dps arm whilst talking him to aggressively too. He didn't know whether he was in a flirt or a fight for half of it 😂 it wasn't just once or twice, it was like every 20 seconds she was touching one of them. My kids were just playing with their fidget spinners on the floor by their feet. It was so odd.
