10,000 bogus applications for Ariana Grande concert

MacarenaFerreiro · 01/06/2017 21:12

Just when you thought Joe Public could sink no lower - 10,000 people who were never at the original Ariana Grande concert where 22 people DIED and more were seriously injured logged applied for tickets saying they had been there.

AIBU to think these 10,000 should be totally ashamed of themselves and are the lowest of the low?

That is disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.

Asmoto · 01/06/2017 21:17

YANBU. Not only that, but people have been trying to sell the £40 tickets for £200+ on eBay (eBay are removing listings). It's sickening.

Sionella · 01/06/2017 21:17

Fucking fuck that is terrible.

SumThucker · 01/06/2017 21:18

Some people are despicable twats.

DaisyChainsForever · 01/06/2017 21:19

It's disgusting - but sadly doesn't surprise me. Good on ebay for taking down listings of people trying to make money off it too.

wherethewildthingis · 01/06/2017 21:19

Really really awful

PatMustardsBigTool · 01/06/2017 21:19

Outrageous. Sadly, some people have no shame. Anything goes for a fast buck. Good that eBay is removing listings.

feathermucker · 01/06/2017 21:21

10,000 Is staggeringly shocking. Shame on them!

SmilingButClueless · 01/06/2017 21:22

YANBU about the 10,000 fakes.

This is one concert I wouldn't mind the tickets being resold for vastly inflated prices though - provided all the proceeds from the resale also went to the appeal.

harderandharder2breathe · 01/06/2017 21:23

Absolutely disgusting. As is people trying to sell tickets.

Some people have no shame.

harderandharder2breathe · 01/06/2017 21:23

I mean trying to sell tickets on for inflated prices, not the venue selling tickets obviously

MacarenaFerreiro · 01/06/2017 21:23

I'd like to believe that all 10,000 are 12 year old Justin Bieber fans desperate for a ticket and not understanding the meaning behind the gig in the first place.

Think that's a naive hope though.

WOW!! Didn't see that one coming did we?? I predicted when I found out they were going on sale that some people would take advantage of the situation. People have even been trying to sell them on EBay for hundreds of pounds, which a lot of people also predicted.

minionsrule · 01/06/2017 21:38

I hope the bastards who bought the tickets to sell at inflated prices ae left with tickets on their hands that they can't sell and tjey then can't may their rent/mortgage. Beyond low.
Unfortunately some stupid mugs will buy them. If no one bought they would stop doing it.
As for people claiming the free tickets , they shpuld be identifiable, hope they ae prosecuted
Total scum of the earth the lot of them

minionsrule · 01/06/2017 21:39

Some major typos there but you get the gist

ALemonyPea · 01/06/2017 21:42

Absolute twats.

There should have been a better system for the actual people who were there to get tickets, like go get them in person over a couple of days before the rest were released.

lolalament · 02/06/2017 00:18

It went be 10,000 though. Some of it will be people that applied twice - if two families went together it's feasible both sets applied. Some will be people that bought the tickets second hand (eg through Seatwave) who were then rejected because only original purchasers could apply.

So it's just lazy reporting to say 10,000.
