eh? craicnet exists

Fluffyears · 01/06/2017 20:40

scotnet was made for the independence referendum as there were so many posts. If wales try to become independent then you'll get a section.

Ask on Site Stuff?

austenozzy · 01/06/2017 20:41

True. 5 million jocks vs 3 million taffs. Maybe they're just a noisier minority? Grin

So funny it posted twice.

Craicnet is for Ireland, not Northern Ireland. Scotsnet also reflects different school and legal systems. Wales is quite different to England in some ways, I think OP is right.

mammyoftwo · 01/06/2017 20:44

i've ever even heard of craicnet! pretty patronizing name imo, if it's meant to be the irish corner of mn

There was an NI section/ goup - I went along to one of the meet ups in a coffee shop. I'm not sure what value such a group brings, and I'm not really surprised they haven't survived (notwithstadning the sterling effots made by those involved).

mammyoftwo · 01/06/2017 20:50

i know ni is small and some would be scared of outing themselves, as everyone seems to know someone connected to someone, but isn't that what namechange is for, on sensitive subjects?

OP posts:
mammyoftwo · 01/06/2017 20:52

melanie i was thinking more of even even a section on mn online, to discuss region-specific parenting issues

Craicnet was chosen by MNetters.

WipsGlitter · 01/06/2017 20:55

There are local boards albeit they're a bit shite. I think craicnet covers the whole island.

TheCraicDealer · 01/06/2017 20:56

Craicnet is an amazing name.

mammyoftwo · 01/06/2017 21:07

where are the local boards wips?

OP posts:
WipsGlitter · 01/06/2017 21:11

Local.mumsnet.com

I think. But there not much activity on them.

mammyoftwo · 01/06/2017 21:14

Ask for it. Scotsnet was requested many many times.

LivLemler · 01/06/2017 21:36

I think when Craicnet came into being, it was intended for users in both Ireland and Northern Ireland. Although I guess whether you're ok with that depends on your own personal leanings Grin
