To be shit scared?! Awaiting results

Hi all, sorry it's a long one. I just don't know what to do with myself.

I went for a routine smear in March, 2 weeks later I recived a letter saying I have severe dyskaryosis and must attend for a colposcop. All fine, I could cope with that. Went for the procedure and they found very large patches of white, with black flecks all over (like it had been sprinkled with pepper) nurse refered me Lletz under GA.
Fast forward 4 weeks I am patiently awaiting results, expecting a letter however; I have been rng by the hospital to go and see the consultant this Friday to discuss result. I am petrified, I have never experienced anxiety before until now.
has anybody else had this and had good news? Also has anybody else had the 'black flecks' ?? The nurse pointed them out.

I was diagnosed with CIN III (I think) about twenty five years ago. Had lazer treatment then a year later it came back, so had surgery. I am still here, I have since had children, and all is well. I will be thinking of you.

ambereeree · 04/06/2017 11:06

Hugs OP be kind to yourself.
Do you mind me asking was this your first routine smear and did you have any symptoms.

chopper23 · 04/06/2017 12:12

Hi all,

Can you bloody believe what happened in our capital last night?! It's like bad luck is following me. I had a little laugh/moan at my DP for the very fancy hotel he booked, in then middle of nowhere in the city was 2 minutes from London Bridge and all that happened last night. We'd been out for a walk and crossed the bridge about 6pm before making our way to the royal Albert hall!! Luckily we were still there when the tragedy unfolded however; we had a long, scary walk back in heels to the hotel as there were no tubes or taxis!!!

Going back to my diagnosis, it was my first routine smear & no symptoms at all. Glad it is highlighting the importance to get yourself checked

I am now on a delayed train from Euston to Birmingham, then fingers crossed into a connecting train to Manchester to the One Love concert tonight.

Hi op, glad you're ok.
I am 3 years in recovery after stage 3 CC was diagnosed. I had chemo, radiotherapy and brachytherapy treatments. Happy to chat with you if you have any questions.
Cancer treatment these days are amazing.
Enjoy Marbella.

Sorry to re alight this thread all BUT it's been over 3 nearly 4 weeks since I was told I had cancerous cells and I've heard nothing from the hospital?

Should I chase or just wait for a letter??

OP posts:
ChildishGambino · 27/06/2017 11:42

If chase them - you may have an appointment and the letter hasn't come to you. If be polite but firm. Flowers

MiddleClassProblem · 27/06/2017 11:45

Can't hurt to enquire. It's not like it's only been a few days of waiting x

LucyAutumn · 27/06/2017 12:04

I would definitely get in touch OP, you need to be given some kind of an update whether it's you plan or a specific date they'll be able to confirm your plan.

user1496484020 · 27/06/2017 12:08

That's really poor. Did they have the meeting on the 16th?

thecatsarecrazy · 27/06/2017 14:15

I would definitely phone op.

JayneAusten · 18/07/2017 23:44

How are you doing, OP? I hope the treatment is well underway by now.
