To be annoyed that Theresa May said she will leave the job of PM even if they win the election.

I have heard this from several people (including someone on here,) that Theresa May said she will step down from the job as PM whether the Tories win or not.

How can she be fighting so hard to win, when she just intends to leave the position of PM anyway?

OP posts:
offblackeggshell · 30/05/2017 12:30

Where did she say that? Who is suggested as follow on?

LurkingHusband · 30/05/2017 12:32

fake news ?

Neverknowing · 30/05/2017 12:32

I've not seen this anywhere?
Interesting if it's true though, makes no sense to me seen as so many true labour supporters are voting for her as she's 'already started brexit negotiations'. I think she's an idiot, it's such a shame that our second female PM is hated as well. Going to make it very difficult for women in politics in the future Sad

SecretNetter · 30/05/2017 12:38

I've not heard this...if true though it makes you wonder if the reason for the election is because she's had a titfull of the job already and thought it might be an easy way out if Labour actually managed to win.

ThePants999 · 30/05/2017 12:44

If she actually said this, it would be big news. Go to any news site. Is it there? No. Stop believing rumours with no verification.

GoldfishHaveNoMemory · 30/05/2017 12:44

Link? I have idly wondered if she is trying to throw the election as she doesn't believe in brexit.

annandale · 30/05/2017 12:45

Who has said that? Any reputable source? I doubt it. Sounds vanishingly unlikely.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 30/05/2017 12:45

Why would you start a thread like this based on a rumour?

Such a waste of time!

CaoNiMartacus · 30/05/2017 12:48

This is the sort of thread that makes me suspect some form of infiltration by paid posters...

user1493759849 · 30/05/2017 12:57

I promise I am not making this up. And I am not a paid poster, who has been told to write this. Sorry, I don't have a link as I just heard a few people talking about it. I wish I could remember which thread I saw it on. I will see if I can find it.

If you guys have heard no such thing, then maybe it is 'fake news.'

Thanks for your posts. I would be interested to hear if anyone else has heard this?

She will leave with one of those ceremonial Tory swords in her back. She knows they’re at the sharpeners being readied.

LadyPW · 30/05/2017 13:01

She hasn't said it all. It was rumoured before she called the election & she put pay to the rumour by saying explicitly that she would serve the full 5 years.
Another stirring Labour-voter thread methinks.....

user1493759849 · 30/05/2017 13:05

Found it! (Where I saw someone say it on here.)

Second post on Page 1. (By bastardgodarkly...)

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2941868-To-think-the-Tories-dont-want-to-win?pg=1

So is the general consensus on here that she didn't say it then? (and isn't going to leave?)

OP posts:
Bluntness100 · 30/05/2017 13:11

She has not said she will step down. This is just rumour from folks who don't like her.

user1493759849 · 30/05/2017 13:12

Did you hear the rumour too then @Bluntness100?

OP posts:
littlehandcuffs · 30/05/2017 13:12

What a load of crap! Paid bl**dy poster.

Bluntness100 · 30/05/2017 13:21

No, but I saws the media interviews speculating by some folks saying she'd go if brexit went tits up. It's just gossip.

It's like me posting and saying corbyn will step down if he gets in. And Abbott will take his place. Just folks making crap up. Or a politicjab saying corbyn won't stay in his opinion. Made up nonsense.

HoneyDragon · 30/05/2017 13:26

This is popping up all over fb and Twitter with nothing to back it up.

Honestly the days of parties having to organise smear campaigns are over ....the shite posted about Corbyn and May on fb and Twitter does it all for them.

user1493759849 · 30/05/2017 13:41

Oh FFS @littlehandcuffs shut up! If you've nothing to add to the thread other than conspiracy theories about the OP, then just do one.

Thanks to the others for your contributions. Seems it may be a rumour then, as there is no concrete evidence. As I said though, I have heard it from a few sources.

I am happy to accept it's a rumour though. Hopefully it is, as it would be unfair and wrong for her to get people to vote for her, and then leave as soon as they win the election. (If they do!)

OP posts:
CrossWordSalad · 30/05/2017 13:44

Fairly desperate

littlehandcuffs · 30/05/2017 13:49

You are the OP though? And you have come on here to spread a lie, why would I not assume you are paid or from a group that will want to do this for your own gain?

picklemepopcorn · 30/05/2017 14:36

I'm glad OP posted this, as I read it elsewhere and wondered what it was all about. As a result of OPs post, I know to ignore it.

Thanks OP.

You are welcome @picklemepopcorn. Smile I am pleased to discover it's fake news too.

And it's OK; I am ignoring the baiting. There's always one who is determined to try and cause trouble... And they are best ignored. Smile

Thanks to everyone else who contributed.

If it helps I'm fairly certain I'm not new and although quite happy to paid to post electoral bollocks on here no fuckers offers me any cash, which frankly is rude; I was going to post this very op the other day to see if anyone had any credence to give it or knew where it had started. But by today it Is seen it umpteen times so figured it was just another blurb.
